Louis stood in the shower, letting the warm water hit his skin. He scrubbed it raw with the cloth, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. Picking up the soap, he poured some onto his hands, letting the water hit it for just half a second. He slathered it around his hands before massaging it onto his neck, shoulders, chest-minding the sensitive areas-and swollen stomach. He smiled at it, four months of pregnancy fast approaching. It was around now the when he was pregnant last, that Louis had first felt Luca stir in his womb. He'd been anticipating it for days that he'd be able to feel the baby.
"Come on, sweetie," he whispered to the swell. "Let me know you're in there. Say hi...come on."
No response. Louis just sighed and grazed his wet stomach. He smiled lightly and finished up quick.
Drying off and getting dressed, Louis headed downstairs, finding Luca sitting and watching television with Harry.
"Morning," he smiled.
Harry smiled over at him and kissed Louis' lips.
"Papa," Luca smiled, lifting her arms up. Louis picked her up, kissing her head.
"How's my Luca Lou?"
"I's good," she smiled.
"Yeah?"
"Mmhmm!"
"Lou, work called about ten minutes ago," Harry began.
Louis got a little concerned and looked over at him. "Oh? What for?"
Harry sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "Apparently, we have a new guy coming into the office today. So they've made me his mentor. And not only that, Mr. Waxford told me that I have to get to know him...meaning I have to invite him over for dinner."
Louis groaned. "Tonight?"
"Yep."
"No...Harry...Can you see if you can reschedule?"
He shook his head. "He talked with the guy...a Matthew Peterson, I think his name was. This is the best night for him this week."
Louis put Luca down, letting her run into another room. "Is there a reason why they didn't tell you in advance?"
He nodded. "The guy who was supposed to be his-er...guide can't do it because of a business trip or family something...This isn't fair! I haven't been working there too long!"
"Yeah, but you're one of the best in your department; Mr. Waxford said it himself."
Harry just huffed and stood up, kissing Louis gently. "I'll see you at six, ok? I'm sorry for the short notice."
"It's fine, there are worse things in the world."
Harry smiled and kissed him for a long minute. "I love you, Boo," he whispered.
"I love you, too, Haz."
He crouched down and pushed up Louis' shirt to kiss his belly. "Love you, baby. Move soon, ok?"
One last kiss then Harry was off, Louis watching from the window.
"Luca! Get your shoes on, we have to go shopping for dinner!" He put an instinctive hand on his stomach and waited for his daughter to come running into the room.
"I ready!"
She had her coat on inside out and her shoes on opposite feet.
"No you're not."
