Chpt. 41 || She Knows

• 8:57 am, Monday - Luke

We've been on the road for only about three hours and I was already extremely bored. There was two hours left until we got there. Michael was driving again, Ashton sat in the front sleeping. Alex was resting her head on my shoulder, and Calum and Serinity were quietly talking in the back.

"Guys, I'm hungry." Calum announced.

"Do you guys want to go to iHop? That sign says there's one about four miles off this exit." Michael told us.

We all agreed on iHop, well those who were awake. Within a few minutes, Michael was parking in front of iHop. I looked over to Alex and saw she was still fast asleep.

"Clark," I said tapping on her. "You need to wake up, we're about to eat."

"Lucas I wanna keep sleeping." She mumbled scooting closer, wrapping her arms around me.

"Alex, you really need to wake up." I told her, trying my best to hide my flushed cheeks. If it were just the two of us I would've let her and even hugged her back, but since Ashton was in the car I had to release myself from her arms.

Alex finally sat up and stretched her arms. "Alex wake up your boyfriend." Michael said.

"Sure thing." She replied, climbing to the front of the car making her way to Ashton's lap.

"Wake up babe." Alex whispered in his ear. His hands gripped onto her waist and she pecked his lips. I rolled my eyes and turned to look back at Calum and Serinity who were asleep.

I punched Calum's leg causing him to open his eyes. "C'mon guys we're here." I told them.

Alex was still sitting on Ashton's lap getting him to wake up. He groggily opened his eyes, "Okay, okay bry- babe. I'm up Alex." He laughed.

"Alexandria we need to get out of the car now." I snapped.

"Calum! You fucking shit!" I heard Serinity squeal as I got out of the car. Serinity was scrambling to get out the back row shouting for Calum to stop tickling her.

Michael approached us and told us our table was ready. We followed the waitress to our table and were handed a menu. "Guys we have about an hour to eat before we have to get back on the road if we want to get there on time." Alex said.

"Okay mom." Calum replied with a laugh.

"Alright, we're here!" Michael announced parking the car.

We all got out and unloaded our bags. Ashton was on his phone, keeping a distance away from us. I walked over to Calum and slightly tilted my head toward Ashton's direction. Calum rolled his eyes, "Let him be Luke. If he does hurt Alex-

Just then Alex approached us along with Ashton. "Guys, Bryana just texted me and said she was going to come here soon." Alex said.

"Yeah she just has to finish packing." Ashton commented.

"Oh, she uh, told you that?" Alex asked.

Ashton's eyes slightly widened, "Yeah, she texted me." He shrugged.

"Oh. Okay." Alex nodded, quickly catching my eye.

We finished unloading the car and went into the cabin. It was a short walk from the parking lot to the cabins, but the weather and snow made the walk seem like a lifetime. The cabin had two queen sized beds, one twin sized bunkbed, two bathrooms, a fireplace, and a couch with a small tv and coffee table around the fireplace.

"Serinity and I call a bed!" Calum called, jumping onto a bed.

"There will be no baby making in this cabin!" Ashton said, causing Calum to give him a glare.

We all got settled in to the beds we wanted and everyone eventually fell asleep.

"Guys! Everyone wake up!" Michael shouted.

"The fuck do you want Clifford?" Alex asked groggily.

"I'm hungry and it's getting dark out. Can someone make a fire so we can cook something?" Michael asked.

"Yeah. Let's all go out and enjoy each other's company and admire the beautiful outdoors." Ashton smiled.

"Are you fucking high babe?" Alex asked.

"Why so grumpy Clark?" I asked stifling a laugh.

"You already know Hemmings." Alex said rolling her eyes.

Michael was the first to leave the cabin to start a fire while the rest of us took out the packaged food we bad brought. It was getting dark out so I helped Calum and Serinity bring out blankets and carried out two guitars.

Michael and  I were stuffing our mouths with marshmallows waiting for Ashton to start a fire to make smores.

"Guys! Bryana is here." She announced. A few minutes later Bryana approached us holding two large suitcases.

"Hi!" Alex greeted,"Do you need help with these?"

"Yeah sure. I'd love some help." Bryana answered.

"Babe, go help Bryana put her stuff in the cabin please." Alex asked, causing Ashton's eyes to widen.

"I can do it." I said.

"Lukey you sit, baby go help Bryana then come back so we can eat okay?" Ashton slowly nodded then took Bryana's bags.

I looked at Calum who was already looking at me with worry in his eyes. "Alex, could you help me?" Calum asked grabbing a bag of chips.

"Some man you are Cal, you need a girl to open a bag of chips for you?" She remarked. "Oh! That reminds me," Alex said standing up. "I have left over snacks from the car ride, I'll go get them," She said walking towards the cabin.

I immediately chased after her and grabbed her arm before she could reach for the door. "Clark, let me get them for you." I said.

"Luke why're you being so weird?" Alex asked, opening the door. She froze in the doorway then looked at me, "You fucking knew didn't you?" She asked, tears filling her eyes.
