• 11:16 pm, Thursday - Calum
"Look, Calum. She's right there." Alex told me.
"I know, I can see her Alex." I mumbled.
"Then go talk to her, like how we practiced." She urged.
"It's way easier asking Ashton out on a date and he's a guy!" I argued.
"Yeah so? Stop being such a girl and grow a pair!" Alex teased.
"Alright fine." I huffed before getting up.
Okay Calum, you got this. Just go over there and don't screw it up.
"Hi Callie." I quietly said.
"Huh?" She said as she turned around to face me, "Oh, hey Calum, what's up?"
"I um- I-I like your face." I mindlessly uttered.
"You what?" She giggled.
Nice going Calum.
"I mean your shirt!" I obnoxiously snapped. I felt my cheeks heat up and I knew I was turning red.
"Oh thanks." Callie smiled. She's so beautiful, especially when she smiled. "I like yours too. That's a Cobain shirt right?"
"Yeah." I replied. We spent the rest of our free periods' talking, but I knew the bell was going to ring soon. So, I made a little white lie, and told her I was hosting a costume party tomorrow night.
"Sure, I'd love to go." She answered.
"Okay. Um, Callie?" I said nervously, "Can I get your number?"
"Yeah, sure, its (***)***-****" But she was cut off by the bell. "Sorry Calum, I better get going, byee." Callie rushed before she scurried away.
..........After school I tagged along with Luke and Alex again.
"Hey Alex?"
"Whatcha need Calum?" She answered.
"Um.. Alex I really really like talking to Callie and I knew the bell was going to ring so I told her I was hosting a party tomorrow night, but the thing is my parents don't like noise and I don't know how to host a costume party and Mindy told me that you love going to parties and-"
"If you're asking if you can have your party here you can." Alex laughed.
I sighed in relieve, "Thanks Al. And you can come if you want to Luke."
"Alright." Luke nodded. "But why costumes?" He laughed.
"I panicked." I shrugged.
"Stop being so distracting Hood. Lucas needs to study." Alex said nudging Luke with her elbow.
"You're the one who is distracting." Luke smirked glancing up from his book.
"Me? How?" She asked.
Luke focused his attention to Alex's face before answering, "Because you're so" Luke paused before finishing.
I knew what Luke was about to say. I knew it, knew it, knew it. He had a crush on her.
Luke licked his lips, "Annoying." He finished with a smirk.
Wait. What?
"Excuse me?" Alex playfully gasped.
Luke shrugged, "You're very annoying Alexandria, and not a good tutor."
"Excuse you Hemmings, what was your grade before?" Alex asked.
"A D." He answered with a sly wink.
"Lucas! You're so gross!" Alex exclaimed.
"But it's true." Luke laughed.
"Well then what's your grade now?" She questioned,
"A B-." He quietly said,
"Ha! I am a good tutor." Alex triumphantly said wiggling her eyebrows.
"Whatever." Luke mumbled.
I felt like a third wheel whenever I was with these two. They talk to each other like they've known each other for ages, while I was awkwardly sitting there, quiet as a mouse. I decided to excuse myself. On the way out I saw Ashton's car pull up in the drive way.
"Hi Ashton." I cheekily greeted.
"Hey Calum." He answered in a girly tone. "So when's that date you asked me on the other day?"
"Shut up." I laughed.
"Is Alex in there?" Ashton asked.
"Yeah." I answered.
Oh shoot. Luke is in there. I wonder if he's okay with Luke. Considering the fact he may fancy her.
"Alright. Thanks Calum." Ashton said before walking towards the door.
*************************************• 4:06 pm, Thursday - Ashton
I haven't hung out with Alex for what felt like ages. I've seen her in the hallways when we pass each other and at lunch or when we both have free periods, but other than that nothing. She probably thinks I'm the worst boyfriend or I'm not interested.
"Earth to Ashton!" My mom called waving her hands in front of my face.
"Sorry. Yes mom?" I said.
"What's wrong? You've been staring at the ground for the past ten minutes or so, it was starting to freak me out." She told me.
I stifled a laugh, "Sorry again."
"Do you think I should visit Alex?" I asked.
"If you want to, it's fine with me. Just make sure you tell her I said hi." My mom smiled.
I drove to Alex's house and noticed Calum leaving. I teased him about going on a date then rang her doorbell.
Within seconds, the door swung open. It was Luke. "Luke?" I said sounding like a question rather than a statement.
"Alex, Ashton is here!" Luke called.
"What's up babe?" She smiled.
"Nothing. I miss you, s'all." I shrugged.
Alex motioned me to come in then led me to the living room. Textbooks and notebooks were all scattered on the floor.
"You're still tutoring him?" I asked.
"What's with the attitude? Is Ashton grumpy today?" Alex teased.
"No, I just didn't know he would need this much help. I mean he's like seventeen, I'm pretty sure he could learn on his on." I argued.
"Lay off him Ash." Alex snapped.
"Stop arguing. I'll just leave, I'm clearly not wanted." Luke mumbled.
"Luke, you're fine. It's just Ashton here; why're you acting like this?"
"Why am I acting like this!? Because Alex, haven't you noticed? Luke obviously likes you! And you're with him all the time. You've been with him and Calum this whole week! Alex I really like you, and don't like not seeing you."
"Ashton, they're my friends. It would be nice if you guys could try to get along you know? I like you too it's just that-"
"That what? You'd rather be with them than me!?" I exclaimed.
I noticed Alex's has begun to water, "Shut up Ashton! That isn't true! Just get out!" She shouted.
