• 3:41 pm, Sunday - Luke

It was the Sunday before we would leave for Hawaii. Angel had came and helped me pack the other day. I haven't talked to Alex since the night we all decided to go bowling. I had stormed off because I couldn't stand seeing her with Ashton. So I thought it would be a good idea and invite Calum over to tell him.

"I knew it! You like Alex!" Calum exclaimed.

"Yeah well I- I don't know. I don't exactly like her, it's just I don't know." I hammered.

"He's been like this for a few weeks now." Michael laughed glancing up from his video game.

"Then why are you dating Angel?" Calum asked.

"Fake. It's a long story." I told him. "But Calum, please, please, please, don't tell anyone."
.....

"Luke! Wake up!" I heard someone shout.

I groggily opened my eyes and saw that it was Alex.

"What the hell are you doing here Alexandria!? It's 2 in the morning." I hissed.

"Michael is giving us a ride to school so we can go to the airport remember? Now cmon lazy ass." She replied pulling off my sheets.

I rubbed my eyes then sat up. "Get out." I told her, but she didn't move a muscle. "I'm going to change, now out. Well unless you want to see me naked." I smirked.

Her eyes instantly widened. "No thanks." Alex said then left the room.

We finally reached school where we got settled on the school buses to go to the airport. Well all decided to sit at the far end of the bus. I sat next to Calum while, of course, Alex was next to Ashton.

"I call window!" Ashton shouted as we reached the end of the bus.

Ashton slid into the aisle of the seat then Alex. Calum and I doing the same, which made Alex and I in the aisle way.

It was currently almost three in the morning, almost everyone on the bus was fast asleep. Why wasn't I? Well, because, Alex. I'm not exactly sure if I like her. Or maybe I'm just afraid. I don't want to have another person leave me again. After all the shit I've been through all my life, the only one who was there was Michael. My girlfriend had left me, my dad left me, my mom's soon to give up on me; then I have no one. Do I really want to let her in? Then what would I do? Just be happy and wait until she leaves? No thank you. Which means, I would have to keep my distance away from Alex and see her only as a friend.

We finally reached the airport, but just as the driver was about to miss the entrance to the drop off zone, he took a sharp turn causing sleeping Alex to fall off her seat. Once her bottom hit the floor I burst into laughter.

"Shut up Hemmings." Alex mumbled.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

"Just perfect." She replied rolling her eyes at me. The bus came to a complete stop and we unloaded our bags then made our way into the airport. Our flight was scheduled to take off at nine am. Which meant stuck inside an airport for about four dreadful hours.

Most of my class continued to sleep at the airport. I was able to get about an hour of shut eye before Angel started to bug me.

"But Luke I don't wanna go alone." Angel whined.

"Angel. I'm a guy. I can't go to the bathroom with you. Ask a girl or something." I mumbled.

"I'll go with you." Alex butted in, "I have to use it myself."

• 7:07 am, Monday - Alex

"I have to use it myself." I told Angel and Luke.

"See, go with Alex." Luke yawned then went back to sleep.

Angel and I took off to find the restrooms. They turned out to be around the corner from where we were sitting.

I knew Angel and Luke were dating, it bothered me a lot, but why? I didn't like Luke, I tolerated him. I didn't necessarily love Ashton, but I did have feelings for him. Since Ashton and Luke made up for me, it wouldn't be fair if I was a bitch to Angel. So that meant, I had to try and be friends with her.

"This is so exciting!" Angel squealed, "I've been to Mexico, L.A, New York, and now I'm going to Hawaii! Where have you gone to?" Angel asked.

"Nowhere. I don't really like planes." I admitted.

"Oh, there's nothing to be afraid of," Angel assured.
.....
Our seats were assigned the same way we were seated on the bus, which was a convenient relief. We had all changed before we got onto the bus, I had changed into black shorts with a black bikini bra but covered with a red flannel. All the boys changed into plain tank tops and swimming shorts.

"I'm so stoked!" Ashton cheered.

As soon as we were settled in our seats, Ashton was called to sit at the front with a new student.

"But Mrs. Hemmings, can't the new student sit with you or like someone else?" Ashton begged.

"Sorry Ashton." Mrs. Hemmings replied.

"So who's going to sit next to Alex?" Ashton asked.

Mrs. Hemmings scanned the seats, "Um.. Let's see.. Luke go sit next to Alex."

"What!?" I blurted. Luke unhesitatingly stood up and sat next to me.

I looked over to Luke, who was buckling his seat belt. He glanced then sent me a light smile, causing me to look at him strangely.

"See, that works now um.. you." Mrs. Hemmings said pointing to an unfamiliar girl, "Serinity. Go sit next to Calum." She instructed.

"Okay." She replied quietly.

"So unfair." I heard Ashton mumble as he walked away.

The flight attendants had just finished demonstrating the safety procedures and we were soon to be taking off. I was feeling quite nervous and very gittery. I could feel my heart beating out of my chest, and to make matters worse Luke was right beside me. Was all this happening because of him?

"Alex? Are you okay?" Luke asked.

"Yeah. Totally okay." My voice was very shaky due to all my nervousness, "Don't worry."

"Have you been on a plane before?" He asked.

I shook my head and began to bounce my leg up and down, "Nope. First time." I answered.

"Is this your first time?" I asked him.

"Yeah." He answered.

"Are you nervous?" I asked, hearing the engines roar scared the crap out of me.

"N-No." Luke said shaking his head. I knew he was lying because he began to tap his fingers on the arm rest of the chair.

"Don't even lie Lucas." I laughed punching him on the arm.

I felt the plane accelerate in speed as we reached the end of the runway. I shut my eyes and held onto the tips on the arm rest as tight as I could. As soon as we tilted upwards I felt a hand grasp on top of mine. I turned to Luke and saw that he was facing away from the front of the plane with his eyes shut.

We were finally flying in the air. "Luke, you can let go of my hand now." I told him.

"Oh." He said taking his hand off of mine, "Sorry."
