Hey

MATT POV

After our interviews were over, we were taken to the hospital to be treated. I wasn't really injured that badly, so they let me walk around. I went to check on Emily. I walk into her room only to see her give me a blank look.

"Hey Em. How you holding up?"
"Im fine..."
"Is something wrong?"
She struggeled to find the words she wanted to say but it eventually came out.
"I-I don't think we should be together anymore."
"What? Why?"
"I just used you. Im nothing but a bitch. A burden to you. Im sorry Matt."

I wanted to say something to change her mind but I bit my toungue and accepted what happened. I stared at her for a minute before leaving her be.

I wanted to talk to Mike after. I checked his room but he was missing. I look out the window with frustration and see Mike sitting on one of the benches outside.

MIKE POV

I see Matt strolling towards me. I wonder what he wants.
"Hey. Whats up Matt?"
"Nothing much, I just wanted to talk to you."
"About?"
"I'm sorry I attacked you at the lodge. I was just jealous and I wasn't thinking straight."
"Don't worry about it. By the way. How's Em? Is she doing good?"
"She's fine but... we broke up. It didn't work out. What about Jess?"
"Oh, uh, I let her go. I told her she deserves someone better than me. I only had an affair with her to make Em jealous. I jus- I just used her!"
My eyes started getting watery. I tried blinking back the tears but I missed her so much.
"Mike. Mike. It's going to be fine, you let her go because you cared for her too much that you didn't want her to get hurt anymore."
"I guess you're right. Thanks Matt."

MATT POV

We talked for a while and continued to mend our friendship. We put all our conflicts behind us. All that drama we created was now in the past.

"Could you do me a really big favour?" Mike asked with a concerned look.
"Hmm?"
"Could I perhaps move in with you after we've been discharged? I just don't want to deal with all my roommate's bullshit and I would rather stay with someone who understands what I- We've been through. Someone who's got my back."
"That's fine with me. I live on my own so that'll be cool to have a roommate."
"Thanks bro"
