MATT POV

My heart dropped after I read a text from my parents. They're coming to visit me. It's too soon. How will I explain everything with Mike?

"Mike we got a problem!" I shout from the living room.
Mike dashes out of the bathroom to me.
"What's happening?"
"My parents are coming over and they said they're gonna be here in about 20 minutes." I say.
"First thing's first. We need to clean this place quick. Then we think of a plan." Mike suggests.

We begin sweeping the place clean. Not a spec of dust to be seen. Now the plan. I could say that I invited Mike to stay here while he lays low or I could come clean. Tell them the truth. Is it too risky?

Mike and I discussed the plan and came to an agreement. We decided to just wing it. Go with the flow. Hooe for the best.

The doorbell rings. It's them. I open the door to reveal my parents.
"Hey mum. Hey dad." I said unenthusiastically.
I greet them and bring them inside.
"I need to introduce you to a friend. He's staying here for a while." I signal Mike to come into the living room.
"Mum, dad, this is Mike." I say.
Mike walks in awkwardly, unsure how to greet them.
"Ah, Mike, I've heard a lot about you. Matt and your father told me a few things." My dad says.

My dad knows Mike's dad?
"How exactly do you know Mike's dad?" I question.
"Mr. Munroe is the CEO of one of the biggest companies in America. You can't expect me to not have met him."

Fuck it. I feel like I need to tell them what's going on between me and Mike. I need to get it out of my system even if they fell for my lie. I think they deserve the truth.

"Mike and I are dating!" I squirm.
Everyones faces were filled with suprise.
"What?" My mum screeched.
"We're dating and I love Mike." I squel expecting to be smacked across the face.
Instantly, im attacked with two hugs by both of my parents.
"If this is what you want Matthew, then we'll support you." My mother says.

"Have you told your father, Mike?" My dad asks.
"No... My dad will kill me if he finds out." Mike mumbled.
"It's okay Mike. No matter what happens, we'll always be here for you." My father said.

"You know what. I'm gonna tell him. If Matt could then I can." Mike says proud.
Mike phoned his dad and called him over here. His dad arrives in less than ten minutes. We invite him in and sit him down next to my parents.

"This best be important. You know I'm bust Michael." Mike's father says in a monotone voice.
"It is. I called you here, because.... I'm dating Matt." Mike said confidentally as he held my hand.

Anger filled Mike's father's face. He raised his hand and hit Mike across the face.
"You're a disappointment to me. You're a waste of time. You're a mistake. I can no longer call you my son. Don't you ever think that I'm your father ever again you worthless child!" Mike's father shouted.

He raised his hand, this time with a fist. Mike braced himself for another hit. He could easily defend himself but he didn't. His father was about to swing his fist with a punch to Mike's face before my parents restrained him.

"If you're not willing to accept your own son for who he is, then get out of here and never show your face here or around us ever again." My father demanded.
"My pleasure." He said as he slammed the door behind him.

Mum sat beside a sobbing Mike and began comforting him with me. I've never seen Mike feel so vulnerable and down. He's the strongest guy I've ever known.

"I'm worthless. I'm just a disappointment." Mike cried.
"Hey look at me! No you're not Mike. You mean the world to me and out friends and now my family. You are worth something." I reasure Mike.

Mike hugs me tightly and cries on my shoulder for at least half an hour. I don't think Mike will get over this anytime soon. Being disowned by your own father and called all those things is really traumatic.

I help Mike into bed and get in with him. He's still crying but he's calmed down a little.
"Matt, tell me you will never abandon me."
"I promise you Michael. I will always be with you till the end."
