Camping

MATT POV

The group all agreed to go camping in the woods. I parked the RV in an empty parking lot then began a small hike to the woods. We walked for 15 minutes until we found an open space to set up camp. We set up four tents and a campfire in the middle.

It was getting pretty dark so we were planning to call it a night after we ate. All of us were gathered around the fire, telling funny stories to laugh at. Mike had plenty to tell.

Jessica broke away from the group to go to the toilet. It had been a minute since she left. Suddenly, we heard a scream. It's Jessica. She sprinted back to the group.
"T-there's a wolf!" She cried in distress.

MIKE POV

A wolf?

From the distance, I saw a grey wolf slowly approaching us.
"Everyone stay back." I say. "I know what to do."
"What are you gonna do Mike?" Emily asked.
"Up on the mountain, there was this wolf... Matt. Just pass me a piece of meat when I signal you."
Matt nods. Everyone stands back in silence. I cautiously approach the wolf to attempt to befriend it. I begin petting the wolf. It's working.
"Who's a good boy?" I say to the wolf.
I signal Matt to pass the piece of meat. He hands it to me.
"You hungry boy? Go fetch!"
I throw the meat far away from the camp. The wolf immediately chases it. I rejoin with the group afterwards.
"Everyone okay?" I ask.
"Yeah. Never thought we had the wolf whisperer with us." Chris remarks.
"Okay. Then I guess we should go to our tents."
They all agree. Matt and I got in the same tent and lay down.
"Never thought you were the animal type." Matt said.
"Well I do like dogs." I reply.
"So what happened up on the mountain?" Matt asks.
"When I went to the sanatorium, there was this wolf. I befriended it and got him on my side. He helped me find my way around and protected me. I don't know what happened to him after I left."
"Oh... Wanna get a dog when we go home?"
I nod.
"I'd love to."
