Today kids, Mother Vanny will be talking about ableism and disability erasure :-)
To start off: What is ableism?
It is discrimination in favor of able-bodied people.
A couple examples of ableism would be:
1. Kylie Jenner's photoshoot with the wheelchair. She doesn't need that wheelchair to move around, so that would be ableist. There are plenty of people who need wheelchairs that could have easily done that photoshoot. (Note: it wasn't her fault entirely, I understand. Some blame goes to the photographer).
2. Saying ableist slurs. Some slurs include (I am censoring them but I'm sure you can figure out what they are):

L*me
St*pid
Ps*cho
Id*ot
R*tard
Ins*ne
Cr*zy
You can also look up ableist slurs and why they're ableist.
Those words can be reclaimed by the person who is/has that, u can't use it. It's pretty much like the n-word. if ur not black u can't use it
Now onto disability erasure.
Most people with mental/physical disorders/disabilities don't see that as a bad thing.
Either way, saying things like "people who have [insert disability/disorder name] don't have a disability. They're still people<33" is So Ugly™.
Yes, they are. But that doesn't mean that the person doesn't have a disability ?? Most people still embrace it because it's a part of them, why would you erase a part of them??
You shouldn't erase someone's skin color, or their sexuality, or their gender, so why erase any other part of them ??
