But like I have an actual rant here it is
Let me just start off by saying that my government teacher is such a homophobic/transphobic person, and it makes me so angry. I love my gov teacher but he's so strict conservative it mAkEs Me sO ??!!(()(
One day, we were talking about some policy where people don't have to be served if they were same sex couples/transgender/anything like that, since it was in the news and we always talk about what's in the news before we take notes. He said, that the person serving the customers shouldn't have to wait on people like that because they just don't want to.
Ok.
No.
NO.
Just because someone is being a homophobic/transphobic prick doesn't mean that the customers shouldn't be served. Discriminating against people because of their gender/sexuality is so fucking low and I cannot stand it. I don't care if you're a Christian, I'm a Christian for crying out loud and I love and support anyone who identifies as a different gender that they were born as.
Don't even start with how it's against the Bible. I get that, technically if you go by the Bible's standards, then yeah. BUT !!!! The Bible also says to love everyone !!!!!!! Love your enemies as you love yourself !!!!!
Ok, back to my teacher.
Few weeks ago we were talking again n he said something about California wanting to get rid of all normal pronouns and use some "weird, made up one that i can't remember and didn't bother to remember. That's just weird".
(Pretty sure the pronoun he was talking about was zir/ze. Not positive, but most likely that was it).
The fact that he says that kind of thing in a classroom full of high schoolers just - it grinds my gears I'll tell ya
*sigh* anyways I need to write some stuff tonight so I'll just stop there
