Chapter 6 The aftermath

Dallas pov
I saw the car upside down and I could smell gas leaking out I had to get out.  I broke out a window and climbed out, and it hurt like hell. I thought about Kayla I would have to get her out too. I broke out her window and lifted her out of the car carefully.
I didn't want to hurt her anymore than she already was hurt. I tried to swerve and avoid the wreck but there was no hope. I put her down a safe distance from the car. Then the driver of the truck came over and said he was sorry, I just walked away because I would have killed him if I stayed any longer. I went and stayed by Kayla's side, I couldn't leave her. I waited for the ambulance to get there. I explained what happened and I rode to the hospital with her in the ambulance. I was so worried about her the whole time, she was unconscious the whole ride which was about an hour. When we got the the hospital and the doors of the ambulance opened I ran out and went inside. I called the Curtis house as soon as I found a phone. It rang three times before someone picked up. It was Steve that picked up..

"Hello."

"Steve, it's Dallas, on the way back there was an accident. You need to get the gang here as soon as you can. She's not conscious, I tried to avoid it but an eighteen wheeler came over on us. I'm so sorry but they don't think she's gonna make it. Hurry."

"I'm on my way."

Steve's pov
I hung up the phone not being able to hold back my tears.

"Guys meet me at the hospital now it's Kayla." I said in tears as I ran out the door, Soda ran behind me and I tossed him the keys to my car so he could drive me there. I think we got there in 10 minutes. I ran in with Soda on my heeels, the receptionist told us where to go. I ran up the stairs because it would be quicker. I saw Dally sitting in the waiting chairs,the gang came in after and Dally filled them in. I waited patiently for news, it seemed like I was waiting on eternity. I figured I'd call Buck and he came immediately, I also called Jessica since she's her best friend and she is coming later.

"Kayla Merril." Buck and I ran over to the nurse. "Which one of you are related to her?"

"I'm her Uncle Buck, and this is her boyfriend Steve, what you can tell me you can tell him."

"Well she's in coma, she can hear you if you talk to her, she may also have  amnesia when she wakes up. I guess it's fine if she has visitors but only one person may stay the night. Oh and only two visitors at once." I nodded. Then Buck and I went to visit her. I let him talk first.

"Listen babygirl, your tough you hear me. You're gonna be okay, you got my last name and we're fighters you'll pull through this. I love you bug."  Then he walked out of the room. I walked over to Kayla's bedside. I wished that this was a fairy tale so I could just kiss her and she'd magically wake up. I sat down beside Kayla and took her hand in mine and I put my other one on top of hers.

"Listen baby I'm so sorry about out fight earlier I didn't mean and I said. I love you so much and I can't imagine loosing you, the nurses said you could hear us but I don't know. If you can hear me please squeeze my hand or something." I felt her barely move her hand. I smiled at her. I love this girl so much more than anything. I could only hope she would wake up soon.
I walked back out to the waiting room. I told them that two could go at a time.

Dally's pov
I went inside her room. I sat next to her bed, I took her hand in mine.

"Kaylabug I love you, if I loose you I can't go on. I love you so much." Then I leaned in and pressed my lips against hers, I couldn't stop myself I had to I hadn't kissed her in so long. I missed the feel of her lips against mine. I pulled away and I noticed that her eyes were open and she pulled me back down and kissed me back. I felt the same spark that I used to feel. I heard someone coming in the door so I pulled away. I decided to play it off like nothing happened. I sat beside Kayla and Steve came in.

"Who's that?" She said pointing to Steve.

"That's Steve he's actually your boyfriend."

"No he isn't you are."

"No he is." I saw Steve run out and I explained to Kayla and told her to try to remember then I went to find Steve
I wanted to stay with her the night but I let Steve stay. I explained to Kayla that she would be okay. Then I kissed her forehead and left. I hope she remembers all of us soon. I really hope she remembers Jess and her Child.
