I sat at the park collecting my thoughts trying to comprehend what Dally meant by it's so hot, those words kept burning in the back of my mind. I couldn't understand what he meant, it isn't even hot outside its the middle of winter and it is quite cold out, I'd be freezing if I wasn't so wrapped up in my thoughts. I saw Ponyboy walking to the fountain from afar, I wanted to be alone but maybe that isnt the best thing right now, and besides Pony had a way to make someone feel better he knew movies and books like it was the back of his hand, so maybe he could put what Dally meant together and give me some answers. I looked back up once again now Pony stood in front of me. "Hey Pony." I spoke. "Hey Kayla, you been crying?" "Yes I have, I had a dream about Dally and he said it was so hot and it's winter Pony, and Johnny said that he isn't with him.." I paused. "Pony what does that mean? Dally being hot, it can't mean that he didn't get to heaven can it?" I said through my sobs that fell down my cheeks. "It could Kayla, it every well could but we as humans can't know that only God knows, not even the angels in heaven know. I'd like to think that he made it but if Johnny doesn't see him then it's very possible but I hope that it was just a dream without any certain meaning; I don't think I can explain it." He said as he put an arm around me and wiped my tears with his hand. "I can't talk to Steve bout it cause he hates Dally, and I don't think he would want to hear me talk about him. I just can't seem to get him off of my mind, he was everything to me, and he taught me how to fight, how to use a blade, the blade I carry with me now to this very day is the one that he gave me long ago in New York." " Well Kayla, whether Steve hates him or not he will have to accept that Dally will always be an important part of your life and you will always love him and care for him, and you may never truly get over Dally; and Steve may not see that being okay but it is Kayla, because he was a very meaningful person in your life; he is the father of your child." He said sincerely. "I know Pony I know I feel that way too, I just don't want him thinking that I care more about Dally than him." He looked up at me his eyes widening. "Well do you care more about Dally?" I looked down tears now streaming down my face. "I think we both know the answer to that question." I spoke through my tears. "You do don't you?" I only managed to nod my head as I still sobbed uncontrollably. I didn't know what to do or what to think about anything anymore or how to feel about anything. I've never had a problem knowing what to do in life, I've always known. I just don't know what to do now, I wish that my mom was here she would know what to do without hesitation, but she is with God now. "You think i could talk to Buck? He may have some advice on what i need to do, my mom would know if she was here and she would know with hardly any thinking, it would just be like a no brainer for her, she was just someone who had a way with words, she told me that Dally and I were good together and she was right. I was wishing  that there was a way that I could dream about her as I used to have dreams about her never in my dreams did I think that I'd be hoping to dream of my dead mother but here I am hoping. I stood up looking down at Pony. "You want a ride home Ponyboy?" I asked him softly, he nodded and got up; we walked to my car but as we were walking some socs came up and started to come by us in their cars loudly. "Well if it isn't Dally's girl, too bad he was so dumb to knock you up and then go and get killed." "You need to shut up, you're just a dumb soc who thinks he's all big and bad because you live on the West side..." She paused her hand already on her blade ready to use it if she needed to. "The West side soc oh so big and bad but guess what you're not as bad as you think you are, I'm not from the east side like most of the greasers are,I'm right in the middle of the two sides, and I don't think you want to get banned from coming to Buck's Place now do you?" She asked him in her tone that got her the nickname of Icy, that Dally had given her. "Nah we are looking for some trouble, and our trouble starts with you." The soc said from the drivers seat of a sixty seven cherry red mustang, he was talking to Pony. "We don't want any trouble." Pony said looking at them trying his best not to show the fear in his eyes. The socs sped off in their fancy mustang leaving tire tracks, Pony and I ran to my car and we began our journey to Pony's, but on the way the socs came around the corner, and cut them off; her eyes widened and she had an immediate flashback to an accident that she and Dally almost got into back in New York. "Hold on Pony."She said as she put her arm out in front of Pony's chest and pushed in the clutch then quickly geared down, then she swerved around them going into a drift around the next turn then she hit the next gear without the clutch by matching her rpms; she heard them coming so she hit into the next gear. "HOLD ON." She said to Pony as she reved into the next gear now being in third the socs were close but still distant. She then applied little break and drifted, around gearing down as she went into the drift and adding more fuel as she came out of  the drift then she went into third once more; she hit fourth and fifth before finally slowing down to turn into Buck's place. Once they had parked she looked to Pony."  I think we will be okay here because they don't want my Uncle to ban them from coming to his bar permanently." She said as she still looked at Pony." You okay now Kayla? You still look like you've been crying but it's more dried up now; oh and are you okay from all that racing stuff we did to get here." He asked. "Yes Pony I am okay for both questions but escaping was kinda fun, I'm not gonna lie." He nodded. "Yeah maybe we can again when we aren't escaping socs but you are a really good driver." He said back to her, she smiled then said. "Yes definitely."  Just as she spoke those words the socs drove by loudly revving their engine but not stopping. Then Steve walked out, but they didnt see him; Kayla seemed alarmed from the socs so Pony took her hand in his softly and looked down at her. "Are you okay?" Kayla put her hand over his caressing it softly. She then looked up to see Steve looking livid and Buck behind him the door still open. "What the actual fuck Kayla and Pony like I mean what the actual FUCK." He said at first then yelled the last fuck. I got out of my car and began to explain but before I could even form words he was full on yelling again. " WHAT THE FRICK? I MEAN COME ON KAYLA, WE TAKE A NAP TOGETHER I WAKE UP BUCK FRICKIN TELLS ME THAT YOU WENT TO THE PARK ALONE AND YOU BASICALLY BROUGHT HOME SOCS; AND NOT TO MENTION WHEN I WALK OUT OF THE FUCKING PLACE IS YOU AND PONY HOLDING FRICKING HANDS UGH I SWEAR IT REMINDS ME OF HOW IT WAS WHEN DALLY WAS HERE YOU WOULD DO THINGS LIKE THAT WITH HIM TO TALK HIM OUT OF CRAP OR WHATEVER BUT NOW IT'S PONY AND SODA."
