A/n: First imagine series posted is based around Armin bc he needs more love; smol, blonde, precious mushroom.

The sky above was a glorious shade of cerulean by the time you finally awoke. It was contrasted by rays of gold streaming from a sun uninhibited by clouds. As you entered the mess hall and scanned the room for your friends, you couldn't help but notice it appeared the warm weather was reflected in your comrades attitudes. That or the fact that all cadets had been issued an opportunity that not even the title 'rare' could cover; a day off (with the exception of small cleaning duties assigned by the Corporal to select victims). You caught sight of Sasha waving at you to beckon you over to where she sat alongside Eren, Mikasa, Connie, Jean, Reiner, Berdholt and Armin. You couldn't help but let a small smile twitch at your cheek upon sighting the latter most member of that list.

You set yourself down beside Sasha and smiled silently in greeting to the group. A pair of cornflower blue eyes clashed with yours as you turned ever so slightly, a flush of rose tinted your cheeks though you merely yawned in an attempt to conceal it. There was an unspoken certainty between you and the short blond that you were both recalling yesterdays events:

---

You sat in the library knee deep in books of various topics- many of which you and Armin were merely reading in childlike, odd voices that allowed for a fit of laughter to ensue. You soon both discovered a mutual interest beneath the joking around: the ocean. Of course many were interested in what lay beyond the walls, albeit Armin seemed to have a vaster knowledge than most and you were enamoured by all that he had to share.

"Is it true there are completely different branches of animal species in this 'Ocean' place?" Your eyes twinkled with intrigue- it was a sight that made his stomach flutter with joy.

"Yes there are hundreds of fish and-" he appeared to be cut off by something, a premature flush of crimson was exaggerated by his pale features. Your brows knitted in confusion as you peered around to find a source. The search was fruitless however as you were both the only ones present.

"Keep going, this is interesting!" You smiled reassuringly. The young male tittered and rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly before clearing his throat to speak again.

"You... You really like hearing about this?" There was a mixture of awe and concern in his voice- did you really enjoy his company or was this merely an act of sympathy?

You immediately hoped to vanquish any trance of said doubts and replied affirmatively. "How could I not? You're- uh, this is so interesting!" You blushed at your unintentional admittance.

You sat before him, e/c eyes glistening with genuine enthusiasm for all that he said. He glanced from you down to his palms in an attempt to summon all the courage his body offered. At last the words he'd wanted to say began to spill from his lips, there was no going back.

"Would you like to hear more over dinner sometime?" At the disclosure of the statement both parties were immediately reduced to a gushing mess.

"I would love to," an ear to ear grin made it's way into your face, and was instantly mirrored onto the mug of your companion.

---

"Y/n..."

"Y/n you okay? Y/n!" You were torn from your daydream by the voice of Jean.

You blinked a few times and stared back blankly at your friends. There was concern written into their expressions- you had been significantly quieter than normal today.

"I'm fine sorry, just daydreaming," you assured them. Shrugging it off Jean continued making plans for the night ahead, something he was about to fill you in on.

"We're going to town tonight Y/N, you in?" You sat open mouthed at the offer and gazed towards Armin for assistance. If you told them the truth, you'd both be stalked relentlessly on your date.

You gulped and replied in a wooden manner. "Sssure thing!"

"Great!" He beamed before continuing. "Meet you all here at 4:30". With that the conversation trailed off into subjects such as where they should eat whilst out on the town. Both you and Armin failed to pay attention however, though even the deaf could tell Jean and Eren were centring one of their frequent debates around which of two tavern options was best. Neither names sounded familiar to you, which was fortunate as you'd rather dine undisturbed with Armin.
