So, I play basketball with my sister, and this is what a get: a trip to the emergency room and a broken nose. Not even from basketball! I ran into the door texting Hattie. Ugh, *facepalms,* how could I be so stupid?! I have a date with her in a couple of hours and now I have a blue and purple nose! She was not going to be happy about this.
As we were walking out, an as if she knew that I was thinking about her, she texted me.
So are you okay?
Ya, the doctor said my nose would be broken for a week or less.
Ugh, I'm sorry. Do you still wanna go on our date tonight?
Of course!
Okay, do you wanna move it to later?
I don't care, do you?
Sure. Let's move it to 6:30 instead. Just so you can rest a little.
Okay, do you wanna come over earlier than that though?
Sure, when?
You can come over at the original time if you want.
Okay, see you then!!!!!!!!
"Brayden!" mom said, snapping my attention up from my phone.
"What?! Oh," I said as I realized what she meant. I was headed straight for another wall. Wow, for being a genius, i sure needed to pay more attention to my surroundings.
"Ok, new rule, and this goes for all of you," mom said gesturing around to Owen, Olive, and I, "if you're texting, you have to stop and not keep walking."
"No, problem," said Olive quickly, "I don't text people much."
"Same here, well about the no problem part. I get lots of texts," Owen said boastfully.
"Ok, Brayden? Do you promise?" mom asked expectantly.
"Yes," I said back.
"Good, well that settles that," she said, "Who's up for ice cream at Snookies Malt Shop?"

So, my idiot brother Brayden broke his nose playing basketball with me. Well, actually he broke it after we finished playing. He walked into the door, the freaking door! Mom made us all promise not to text and walk, which isn't a problem for me. I don't text much. Well, except for Ethan. I guess he's kinda my boyfriend, kinda not. No one knows about him, not even Janey, my best friend.
We got in the car and we are going for ice cream, I think anyway. I kinda spaced out after I promised mom. Anyway, Ethan texted me just as I got into the back seat with Owen.
