Chapter 22

It has been a week and a day , since victor last visited us. To say we let our guards down would be a lie. Our guards were up so high that a giraffe couldn't see over it. After kai's birthday bash , we've gotten closer than before. We spent everyday together which I loved. Waking up off the bed I groaned loudly as I remembered that Today is the day of the big ball. Sighing loudly I dragged myself to the bathroom . The ball is a tradition in the hotel , on the 18th of november every year they throw this big ball celebrating for what reason I don't Know and honestly I don't care. Why am I going ? reason being because dad says since we live here we need to participate and lalalala.

"Morning " I said trying to be chirpy , but i failed , I wasn't exactly a thrilled person this morning.

"Somebody woke up on the wrong side of the bed " Kai teased , pulling me into a hug.

"Apparently" I dryly said pulling away from his arms , from the corner of my eyes I saw him give me look but I ignored it and headed straight to the door. The cold air hitting me like a fast train as it stepped outside , Not being a big fan of the coldness I quickly walked to my car , waiting for kai. We are going to the mall to get our clothes to wear to this crap.
The ride was filled with tension , both of us wanting to say something but afraid we insult each other . So i just leaned back in the seat with my arms crossed and looked at the road ahead.

The mall was packed with adults trying to get early gifts for the family, another reason why I didn't want to attend this ball, I can't take the rush and chaos . Holding kai's hands tightly I dragged him to the first dress store I saw. Shockingly he didn't argue and found a nearby seat. Walking around I saw many dresses but none that looked like my styling . Store after store I finally found the perfect dress. It's a cream dress with a pattern in rhinestones stopping up to the waistband,it had a elegant back with triangle shape hole,the dress hugged all my curves and it flowed beautifully down to the floor . Twirling around in the changing room , I quickly took off the dress and carried it to the cashier. Smiling as I left the store with kai next to me with a cute little pout on his face.

"Why can't I see you in the dress ?" He asked rolling his eyes at my response.

"You'll see me in it tonight " That was my final answer before we went to search for a nice suit for kai. Shopping for him was easier, trying to get back for what I did to him he didn't let me see him in his suit. My belly grumbled loudly attracting eyes to full upon me. My face was the color of a tomato ,hiding behind my hair to shield myself from this embarrassing moment. Which Kai didn't make easy because he laughing his ass off with some by passers. Glaring coldly at him i stomped off to the food court . Standing in line my phone began to blare out ass drop , digging around in my pocket I fished the phone out of my pocket not bothering to check the calling I.D.

"Hello " I said , moving up in the line .

Silence.

"Hello " This time I said in a serious voice ,having a bad feeling about this caller.

"Why hello my little sister " Victor said you could hear the smirk in his voice "Did you miss me ?"When I didn't answer he laughed and spoke again . "I'll see you tonight at the ball" Then the line went dead .

Standing there with my shaking hands I blinked back my tears , not feeling hungry anymore I asked for excuse and left the line. Looking for kai I saw no sight of him ,this made me more frighten . What if something happened to him I wouldn't be able to live with myself. Looking in store to store still no sign of him someone came up behind me and breathe on my neck.Turning around slowly with my hands reaching for my gun I saw kai with a big grin on his face. Shoving him hard I shouted at him " Where the hell were you " Not caring about the people who stopped and stared . I had every right to be going mad . Kai knows he's in danger and is wandering off I will never be able to live with myself if something happens to him .
