My head lightly hits the window of the plane, the turbulence causing the bumpiness. A sigh escapes my lips as I do so.
I'm on a plane back to California. I got cleared by the hospital and called my mom. She bought me a ticket back because she was so worried. I happily accepted the gift but felt bad because of the money part.
My phone buzzes in my lap making me remember I forgot to put it in airplane mode. I pick it up though and look at why my phone buzzed.

Devin: look behind u.

I raise an eyebrow and reply back

Me: I'm on a plane. not much I can look back too.

I send that and a bit later get a text back.

Devin: look behind anyways.

I shake my head and turn to look. I'm shocked as I see him sitting there a small grin on his face.

"What are you doing?" I ask, pretty fucking shocked that he's on this plane, sitting right behind me. How did I not notice?

"I live in California." He says with a shrug.

"Oh, why didn't you tell me? We could have sat by each other." I reply with.

"I wanted to surprise you." He replies.

"You should have surprised me in the terminal." He shrugs with a smile.

"Ask that guy beside you if we can switch spots." Devin says.

"You ask him." I whisper scream

"Fine!" He says like I shot him. I giggle a bit at him.

Instead of asking the person beside me he asks the lady beside him. She nods and stands, moving out of the area and into the isle. I quickly stand up and hop over to sit beside him, my carry on in my hand.

"Why didn't you tell me you lived in California?" I ask as I get settled in.

"I didn't think it was a big deal." He laughs awkwardly.

"it would have been nice to know." I say with a shrug. "Oh well."

"So how are you feeling?" He asks me.

"My head hurts and I'm sad." I say causing him to give me a sad smile.

"Well, I mean, things could be worse. You could have died." He says cuasing me to look away.

"Maybe that would've been better for everyone."

"No don't say that." He says quickly, grabbing my hand as the words leave his lips. His fingers wrap around mine, hugging them to his hand. "You're so important." He whispers the last part which cause sme to look back over at him.

"What about Kylie?" I ask quietly, tears pricking at my eyes.

He looks away from me causing my heart to shatter, he still loves her. Why would I ever htink he'd want me? I tug my hand out of his to only have him grab it back.

"I don't want her the way I want you. I just don't want to hurt her." He says making  a tear slide down my cheek.

"It's okay, I understand." My voice cracks slightly. He looks up to me, sadness laced in his eyes.

"I don't want to be with her, Alex. I want to be with you. If being able to stay with you means I have to break up with her then so be it. I'm not letting you leave that easilly." He says, trying to cheer me up but only makes me feel worse, more tears sliding down my cheeks.

"She's going to cry and it's going to be all my fault." I look away again, but to only have Devin make  me look at him.

"It's not your fault, not in the slightest."

My head rests against Devin's shoulders as we sit in my moms car. She's taking us to her house, and I guess my house too. The car ride is silent, none of us knowing what to say.

"How's Dahlia?" I ask my mom, my voice cracking from not talking for a while.

"She's good, she misses you. She stares at the door every night waiting for you." I smile lightly at my moms reply.

"Who's Dahlia?" Devin asks.

"She's my long-haired cat." I reply, totally forgetting that I didn't tell any of the boys about her.

"I'm surprised she didn't tell you about Dahlia. She tells everyone about her." My mom says.

"I had other things on my mind compared  to that." I sigh lightly.
