(The chapter title made me think of this song =^_^=)
~Third Person P.O.V~
Jinmee walked swiftly down the street in her fool-proof disguise, a sleeping Donghae tucked safely in her arms. She had no choice but to let her little boy go. He couldn't stay when Jinmee didn't know what was to come.
In the time span of almost two weeks, Jinmee had three more cuts added to the very first one she had received on the day she decided to make contact with a human being that wasn't Donghae or Ruki. One more slice meant learning of what her surprise was. The list of possibilities of what Ruki would do was endless, ranging from something small like a few hits to harming her son in front of her eyes.
She just couldn't let that happen.
So here she is now, making her way through the crowded streets on her way to leave Donghae with the only people she could trust him with. They would do a much better job at protecting him than she could. He didn't deserve to be used as a way to relieve anger for someone who couldn't care less about him. What he did deserve, though, was all the love and protection he could get, and Jinmee couldn't give that to him. Not when she was just as battered and lost as he.
Her pace quickened when the building she had missed so much came into view. All thoughts left her as she focused on reaching her destination as fast as she could, though it didn't really matter. She could rush all she wanted, but she'd still receive her couple package of another slice and a surprise she didn't want.
It wasn't long before Jinmee had reached the front door of SJ's dorm. Out of breath from dashing up the stairs, she raised a shaky fist to the door and knocked as hard as she could, which proved to be a harder task than it should have been because of how weak she'd grown over the last couple of weeks.
Within mere seconds, the door was swung open.
"Jinmee?" said a shocked Sungmin, eyes wide in what seemed to be a jumbled mix of shock and amazement.
Jinmee ignored the look on his face and instead continued on with what she needed to do. The faster Donghae was in good hands, the faster the pain would be over with.
"Sungmin, I need you to do me a favor," she said, her words rushing out at an abnormally fast speed.
The man only continued to ogle at the sight before him, his expression still that of a person in awe. Jinmee heaved an irritated sigh at his lack of response and carried on the one-sided conversation.
"I need you to take Donghae," she said in a serious tone.
"What? Why?" Sungmin asked, snapped out of his thoughts at such a request.
"I can't answer your question, but please watch over him for me. I can't keep him from getting hurt anymore, and I know you guys can,"
"Getting hurt from what?"
"Sungmin, just protect him, please. I don't know when I can come back or if I ever will, so until then, keep him safe for me. When he wakes up, tell him that his eomma loves him very much, forever and always,"
With pain-filled, watery eyes, Jinmee carefully transferred the sleeping boy to Sungmin's awaiting arms, planting a quick kiss on his forehead before leaving just as quickly as she had come.
Confused about what had just transpired in the doorway of the dorm, Sungmin returned to said place's comfort. He plopped down on the sofa in the living room, careful not to wake up Donghae. Beside him sat a fatigued Ryeowook and a half-awake Siwon.
"Who was at the door?" Ryeowook asked as he flipped through channels on the TV.
"Jinmee," he said quietly, his voice nearly inaudible to the two.
