The light sound of clattering and soft voices somehow get me out of my sleep and look around my sun lighted room. I sit up, bringing the covers up with me. I grab some sweatpants and a t-shirt and put them on. I put my ear out the door and try to listen to the soft voices coming from outside my room. I figure out my dad's and Ron's.

He's still here? I thought he would leave when I fell asleep. Does my dad know that he spent the night here? Does he know what we did?

I start feeling nauseous at the thought of him knowing what happened yesterday. It's embarrassing and it's my dad. Maybe he doesn't know, maybe that's why they're having a decent conversation. Or maybe, they're waiting for me to come out of the room and talk about it. I walk to my mirror on the wall and straight out my hair before walking out.

My legs tremble as I walk down the hallway and I don't know if it's from being too nervous or from yesterday. I find my dad and Ron sitting at the kitchen table, talking. Just talking.

"Goodmorning." My dad spots me.

"Goodmorning." I whisper, my voice a little groggy.

"Look who came to visit us this morning." My dad gestures over to Ron and we greet each other like we didn't see or do anything yesterday. "Do you want some coffee?"

"Yes, please." My dad stands from the table and walks to the kitchen.

"DId you sleep good?" Ron whispers over to me, hinting the cockiness in his voice.

"Better than ever." Honestly, I really did. It felt like years since I slept so at ease and had no trouble with waking up in the middle of the night due to the restlessness that came to me. "Why did you leave?" I know it's a stupid question because of how my dad lives here, but I felt like asking.

"I didn't leave." He smiles. "Your dad just didn't notice when I snuck out the door and knocked."

"So you never left?"

"Why would I?"

My cheeks flush in warmth and I have to look away when thoughts of last night came to me. My dad returns to the table with a mug full of coffee and hands it to me. Both my dad and Ron keep the conversation going, mostly talking about the business, which I obviously stayed quiet, not knowing anything about what they're talking about.

"Well, I have to go to work." My dad says. "I'll take you back to your mom, okay?"

"I can take her." Ron says. "I was over on my way to see Marisa anyway."

"Is that okay with you?" My dad turns to me and I nod at him with a shrug not to look too eager to go with Ron. "Alright then. I'll see you next week." My dad kisses me on the head and pats Ron on the shoulder and walks out the apartment, leaving Ron and I alone.

"I have a question."

"What is it?"

"Are we like official or," I let the question hang in the air for him to answer.

"We are." He gives me a satisfying smile, which makes me smile. I'm excited after hearing his words, I can tell everyone now that there was always something there and it doesn't have to be a secret anymore.

"How are you still smiling?" Ron asks me after a few minutes.

"Because I'm happy." I say. I really am. "

"That's how I want you to be."

We pull up in my driveway.

"I will be." I scoot over to kiss him. "As long as I'm with you."
