The sky is dark and I wait on Ron to arrive at my house. The nights are getting colder and colder as days pass. I'm still confused of what happened this morning, Ron completely blew the whole idea of us being together to my mom. Why didn't he want her to know? He must have his reasons, but we have already decided that we were something and I really wanted everyone to know. But why doesn't he?
I called him to come over once my mom was called to go back to the hospital. It's the opportunity to talk to him with no one around.
HIs car pull up in my driveway and get off. "Hey." He sits beside me on the doorstep. "How was your day?"
"It was okay." I say. "Didn't do anything important. What about yours?"
"I had to go see someone."
"Who?"
"It doesn't matter."
"It matters to me." I look over at him.
'It was this guy from work. Nothing important."
"Okay." I drop the subject there. "What happened this morning?"
"I'm not sure." He whispers.
"'I'm not sure'?" I repeat his words. "I think you know."
"I don't think it's time to tell anyone." He looks straight ahead at the lawn instead of me.
"Why do you say that?" I feel the urge of crying. I only wanted that all along, since we started, but he was the one that never wanted.
"For the same reason we didn't told anyone before."
"But things are different now." I try to say.
"How?" He frowns. "They seem the same to me."
"How are things the same? We've matured during the years and I'm sure they have, they should understand what's going on here."
"I don't think so."
"If you're talking about your mom, I'm sure we can come up with a solution with her. One day, she'll have to accept things as they are."
"It's more complicated than that, Tiff."
"How is it complicated?"
"Because she won't accept and she'll do anything in her power to not let this thing that's between us happen."
"But eventually she will stop."
"I doubt that."
"Why are you thinking like that? I thought you wanted this."
"I do, but right now, no one can know."
There's a small feeling of uncertainty in me and I know that he's not telling me why he really want anyone to know. I can understand where he's coming from with his mom, but then again, we can still do something about it and staying hidden is not the right answer. There;'s something else and he's not telling me.
"Why are you really not wanting anyone to know?"
"I hate lying to you." He says.
"You've been lying to me?"
"No!" HE says. :I Haven't. I just can't give you what you're looking for right now."
"What are not telling me?"
"I can't tell you."
"WHy not?" Tears stroll down my cheeks.
"Because they really don't have any importance." He says.
"Then tell me."
"I will." He wipes away the tears on my cheeks. "Later."
"Why no right now?"
