(There will be cursing in this book. If you are not okay with that, then I am very sorry!)
"W-wait, live with you?" I imagine I looked like a character whose eyes were larger than her head. He smirked and brought the lip ring back in between his teeth.
"Because my previous secretary was far too involved and got herself killed. Therefore, I'm going to need a replacement, and you will do just fine."
"Why me?" Was he on crack? There was no way I was going to do the dirty work of Ravage.
"Because you reek of innocence and submission. You wouldn't disobey orders, would you Katherine?" His eyes lit up as if knowing the affect he had on everyone.
"Ads, are you sure you want to do this?" Nathan was hesitantly talking through the mic, but I had already made up my mind.
"Of course not. I greatly appreciate the opportunity."
"Katherine, if you continue this behavior, we won't have any problems."
The guys behind him laughed, but I wasn't quite sold.
"Am I allowed to ask your name?" This only made the laughing increase, but I continued to glance around the room.
"I'm Hunter. The leader of Ravage."
Well shit! I never expected Hunter to be so close in age to the triplets. "Umm, I-I don't know what to say. Sh-should I come in every morning, or should I find someplace closer?"
"Nonsense. I tend to work 20 hours a day so I prefer you being under the same roof. That way if you ever try to cross me, I'll know." I nodded my head and tried to block out the cuss words coming through the mic.
"I can send for my clothes if that would make things easier on you." If submissive was what he wanted then submissive was what he would get. I could handle Hunter and Ravage as long as I kept the disguise going at all times.
Hunter smirked as I stared into his mesmerizing eyes. The sick bastard didn't even know he had just invited the Devil under his roof.
"Jared, Wyatt, get everyone out of my house. Zeke, make sure all of her things are sent to my house within the hour." The three men left, each acknowledging Hunter with a firm handshake and a 'bro hug' thing.
Hunter turned his attention to his liquor while I allowed my curiosity to get the better of me. I ran my hand along the top of the large computer, my heart jumping for joy at seeing the updated model I had been waiting for.
"Why so quiet Ms. Louis?" I turned my head to see Hunter leaning against the back of the couch watching my every move.
"Well, I just moved here. I haven't had much experience in the work field, and sometimes my innocence can be quite a disadvantage. For example, had I known who Jared was when he first approached me, I may have been much more hesitant to pursue conversation with him. I've heard many stories of Ravage and its leaders. Although I ignore useless gossip, I believe I have good reason to be fearful of the new position."
"You should be fearful. But as long as you obey all of my rules and do what you are told, then I assure you, this will be quite a...pleasant...experience." He took a step closer and winked down at me, making a blush spread across my cheeks. "You seemed interested in the computer?"
"Oh, I've always been fascinated with it, but have only used high quality computers once or twice." Of course I was lying through my teeth. I knew how to hack systems faster than most highly paid coders due to the excessive hours of classes I took at age 12.
"Well, you have a day to become extremely familiar with the systems, but you also will be denied access to many, many files until I decide you're trustworthy. You will only see what I allow you to see, and you are never to question me on what information is passed along through any form."
I nodded my head in understanding. "Is there a room set up for me, or should I remain in the living room for the evening?"
Hunter motioned for me to follow him back out the doors and up a beautiful white staircase with a sleek black railing. The whole home was decorated in white and black. He pointed to a beautiful white door, and further down the hall was a glossy black door. "The one down the hallway is my room, and I recommend you stay out if you want to live to tomorrow. This is yours."
He pulled open the white door to reveal a beautiful sweet with a gorgeous all white bed spread. In fact, the whole room was white except for black towels, pillows, and the closet, bathroom, and balcony doors. I was amazed by how put together the whole house was.
"It's perfect. Thank you." He nodded and went to leave before coming back in moments later with three suitcases full of clothing inside them.
He left them at my door and without saying as much as a goodnight, disappeared down the hall towards the stairs towards his office. I carefully shut the bedroom door, and grabbed my phone before heading out onto the balcony.
I quickly dialed Dylan's number. "Addie, how are you doing?"
"I'm fine, but I think it will be awhile before I can call you again. I think my new arrangement will work nicely, but I may have to stay for a month or two at least before reporting anything to you."
Dylan argued with me for three minutes and twenty-seven seconds before I got so fed up that I hung up the phone. I removed the mic and hid it carefully as I unpacked each suit case and filled the walk in closet.
A part of me was shocked that everything had happened so quickly, but this was a good thing. Garret would have wanted me to risk myself for Trepidation, even if that meant living with a ruthless, heartless gang leader.
His charming act was just that: an act. I remember the threats he sent us for years, and I remember the message I received hours before Garret was killed. Hunter was a monster, but that wouldn't make me stay away. I would have to do whatever it took to convince Hunter that 'Katherine Louis' is just the sweet, innocent girl that he sees. He could never find out about the vengeful, brunette widow who only wanted to drain Ravage of its life source.
A/N: Hey everyone! Hopefully you're all ready to handle the badass Adelaide ;)
