It had been exactly one month and four days since I moved in with Kayden. We had adopted an easy system of breakfast in the morning, work all afternoon, an occasional dinner, and he would go off to party with the guys while Sarah would come over to sit by the fire and gossip or read.
I had determined that Kayden was snarky, snippy, ignorant, and aggressive, but I saw small moments when he would smile and his dimples would be revealed. His eyes would lighten up, and I could feel my heart melting towards him.
I was highly impressed by the way Kayden was leading Ravage as odd as that was to admit. He held such power when he led, but he wasn't as ruthless as I had imagined. Of course he killed, but he seemed to care greatly for his people.
Tonight, Kayden, the rest of the group and I were going out to the night club Ravage owned so the boys could meet with a few people. I had already talked to Sarah about what she would be wearing, and decided something a bit more Addie-like would be fun. As Katherine, I was already dressed as innocent as possible, but it was so drab.
I pulled on tight black skinny jeans with a white sheer tank top and a cropped coral leather jacket over top. I curled the blonde wig and upped the makeup game a little, adding black winged eyeliner, mascara, and a red gloss.
"Kayden, which car are we taking?" I was making my way down the stairs, trying to remember what walking in heels felt like, when Kayden glared at me.
"Where the hell did this come from?" I saw the humor behind his stone cold glare, so I playfully rolled my eyes and smiled.
"I think you've been a bad influence on me, Kayden."
"Appears so. Come on, Kat, let's go." I nodded my head and followed him out to the red and black Range Rover. I wrapped the jacket tighter around me as the early October chill was starting to get to me.
When we arrived to the club, it was packed. People were drinking and dancing and I quickly laced my arm through Kayden's as he led us through the mobs of people to the isolated table in a room looking out on the dance floor where everyone else was.
Sarah stood up and gave me a hug which I cheerfully returned before sitting down next to Kayden. Wyatt handed me a glass without telling me what it was.
I didn't question it and took a sip. The four guys were staring at me, trying to watch for a reaction that I obviously wasn't giving. "Wait, did you just drink that?"
"Yeah, why? Was I not supposed to?"
"Katherine, have you ever had alcohol before?" Oh shit, now I understand why they were glancing at me like that. I tend to forget that most people don't drink straight whiskey like I did back home, so they were probably expecting prude little Katherine to spit it out and make a scene.
"I've drank before, I just don't prefer things that strong." I handed the glass over to Kayden even though I really wanted to down the whole thing. Sarah was sipping on a Sprite when she jumped up and grabbed my hand.
"Jared, can we go dance? Please?" She gave him the puppy dog eyes that never really got her much, but Jared agreed as long as we stayed on the edge of the dance floor.
Sarah dragged me on the dance floor and laughed as she started to dance. "I think Addie needs to come out a little bit tonight!" I rolled my eyes, but began to sway my hips and dance to 'Up Down' by T-Pain.
While we were dancing, I felt someone yank my arm hard. I turned around to see a man glaring at me. "If you're going to dance like a slut, then you better be ready to act like a slut."
He was clearly drunk, but I still recognized him enough. It was David Worth, the drug dealer who was selling to both gangs. "Oh, Mr. Worth, I wouldn't touch me again if I were you."
"And why would I do that?" He reached out to grab me again, but I grabbed his arm, twisting it painfully behind his back. I pressed my lips against his ear.
"Because you wouldn't want Hunter to find out you've been selling to Trepidation as well, would you?"
I released his arm, and he looked back at me with shock before scampering off like a scared little kid. "Come on, Sarah, let's go."
I sat back down at the table, but realized Kayden had disappeared. "Jared, where did Kayden go?"
"He...had something to take care of. Why don't you guys stay with Wyatt, and I'll go find Zeke and Kayden?"
Jared disappeared through the crowds, leaving Sarah and I with Wyatt who was downing beers. Sarah and I had been talking for a while before I saw Kayden making his way back to the table with a paper shoved harshly under his arm.
"Katherine, we're going home." He didn't say goodbye to anyone, just wrapped his hand around my wrist and tugged me out towards his car. Once I was buckled, he sped out of the parking lot back towards his house.
I decided not to say anything until we got back home, so instead I just admired him. His sharp jaw line was such a contrast to his pink plump lips. His lip ring was wedged in between his teeth, a sign he was focused on something that was serious or important. He raked his long fingers through his brown soft curls, and fully turned to face me. My eyes widened with shock when I realized we were sitting in the driveway, and I had been caught drooling over him.
I was really only caught staring one other time and he was shirtless in the kitchen. I had dreams for a week after about licking his abs. No shame.
"Am I allowed to ask about the folder or should I pretend I never saw it?" Kayden opened his car door and came around and opened mine for me. Instead of moving so I could walk inside however, he trapped me up against the car door. I felt him create a barrier with his body.
"We can talk about that tomorrow, but you are never allowed to dance like that in front of anyone ever again."
"Why?" His warm lips touched gently against my ear, sending chills down my spine. "Because I may not be able to hold back next time."
With that, he turned and went into the house, leaving me hot and bothered against his car. Dammit Kayden!
A/N: Winter break has given so much time to write and I love it! What's your favorite food to eat during the holidays? I think I ate way too many sweets, but oh well! Please don't forget to like and comment :)
