I was pulling the homemade pizza out of the oven when Kayden came ambling into the kitchen with a huge binder under his arm. I piled up his plate and set it down at the kitchen table next to a glass of his favorite scotch.

"Hey, can you take a look at this for me? I need your opinion on something." Kayden's eyes were dark, but he kept the usual smirk. It somehow looked more intimidating than usual, but smiled and picked up the binder.

I opened the cover of the thick binder and began scanning over the pages. Each one was worse than the first. Picture after picture of Garret, Dylan, and Nathan drinking, dancing, flirting, dealing and doing drugs, beating, choking, and killing person after person. Some of the pictures were of the three boys holding the decapitated heads of Ravage members, posing with it like a trophy. With each of those pictures came the envelopes addressed to Hunter from their house. My house.

The dates were showing that this had been going on long before and long after I had moved in. The last page of the binder was a picture of Garret raping Zeke's girlfriend. I winced and closed my eyes as the binder slipped out of my hands and onto the floor. "Wh-why would you show me these?" My heart was beating hard against my chest, and my anger towards the boys was growing. They were sick, lying little bastards that deserved to die, and I was sick to my stomach thinking of how close I had been to them.

"Because 'Ads', your little friend Nathan called you while you were showering. Anything you'd like to fess up to?" The anger was radiating off of him, and it was clear that the truth was out.

"What do you want to know?" My voice sounded weak and pathetic, but I felt everything spinning. I couldn't bother to pretend like these pictures didn't affect me, nor could I pretend like the phone call was anything less than it was. Who knows what Nathan could have said, and after seeing all of this, I'm not even sure I know Nathan well enough to guess.

Kayden wrapped his hand around my arm, and harshly dragged me into his office. He slammed the door behind him, and pushed me down onto the floor. "I want you to explain to me why you thought breaking into my house and lying to me was a smart move." The dark, twisted humor in his voice was clearly present, but I couldn't blame him.

       "Kayden-"

"NO!" He shouted, slamming his fist down against the desk. "Don't say my name."

I nodded weakly. "Okay, I'm sorry." I knew I would have to confess if I didn't want Kayden to murder me here in his office. After a deep breath, I explained everything.

"It-uh-it started when I was first introduced to the River brothers, I guess. I had been training with my father on computer hacking, drug trafficking, and weaponry since I turned eight, and on my ninth birthday, I was introduced to three twelve year old boys who from the start knew I was their property. I spent all my time training and learning for what I was told would be running the gang that would take over the world at the hands of the River triplets. Anyway, I was deemed extremely useful to the boys, and basically ran things from behind the scenes. I dealt with a majority of the deals and focused on the people, but apparently they were very careful about what they hid from me." I spun the ring around my finger, wanting to throw it as far as I could.

"So three fuckers trusted you with a gang?" He scoffed and let out a deep laugh under his breath. "They're dumber than I thought."

"Do you want to hear the rest, or do you just want to question my skills, because I can easily disprove the theory that they were dumb to trust their gang with me." He glared, but kept his mouth shut which I took as a sign that I could continue.

"I only came here because no one here knew me, and I would have been the only one to find a connection. The night we met at the party was an accident. My plan was to find someone who held some kind of respect with you, but it was never to find you specifically."

"Jared." He mumbled as things started to click. I nodded my head and tucked a piece of hair behind my ear. "I was hoping to run into Jared, but by a miracle, he found me. He seemed to buy more into the soft spoken and innocent type, so I played off as being just that. I had no idea that would result in meeting you, or being given a job to work for Ravage."

"What made you so sure no one would recognize you?"

I laughed under my breath as I pulled off the wig and tossed to the side. I shook out my dark brown curls from the bun they were in, and smirked at Kayden. "Because I couldn't be further than what you all believed 'Katherine' to be. Being quiet and naïve couldn't be further from who I really am, and by pretending, you were able to trust me."

"What were you hoping to achieve exactly? You knew that you'd be killed the second I found out, yet you risked everything to get information, but never send any of it to Trepidation?"

Nathan must have said something about that, but for once I was grateful for his big mouth. At least he knew I wasn't lying about sending Ravage secrets to Trepidation.

"I was here for one thing, and it was under false pretenses. I was deceived into thinking the River boys were something that they aren't, and I almost helped them because of it. Kayden, I'm sorry that I lied to you."

"What was the one thing you wanted?" His jaw and fists were clenched. His shoulders looked extremely tense, and I wanted nothing more than to massage the tension away, and then run my fingers through his curls.

Damn, what's wrong with me? He caught me staring and smirked, but I bit down on my lip, shook my head, and continued. "Revenge. The reason the boys trusted me was because they would have permission to do practically anything they wanted if I stepped out of line."

"Stop being dramatic and get to the fucking point." He rolled his eyes, and I closed my eyes to even out my breathing.

"Fine, okay? My name isn't Katherine Louis, it's Adelaide Styles, but back in the U.S. they just called me Addie River."

He stood up and placed both hands flat on the desk. He leaned his weight onto his hands, and stared at me. "River? As in,"

       "Garret River's wife."
