A/N this chapter, I decided to switch it to first person, so I had to go back and change the perspective for the past two chapters. So DON'T FREAK OUT! Also, I might've missed a few things so... SORRY!
So. Apparently Camp Half-Blood was a safe haven for demigods and other half humans. Georgia told me all about it on their way to my house for supplies. I was in such a good yet confused mood. Of course. I was out of my mind happy to be leaving that smelly and abusive hole of a home.
On the other hand, I had no idea who my godly parent was. But that didn't stop Georgia from trying to figure out.
"Do you love makeup and romance?" Asked Georgia.
"No. And I'm offended you haven't found that out by now."
"You're pretty powerful, do you like/control water, lightning, or the dead?"
I shot a confuzzled glare at her. "What? Um, no..."
Georgia's face lit up "OH! Are you good with mechanics?"
"You think I'm the daughter of the God of Fire?" I thought for a minute "I'm no professional, but I'm pretty good with machines... dosent mean anything."
"I give up. We'll just have to wait till you're claimed." She sped up on the leaf strewn sidewalk as they approached my foster house. Before I could even question what a claiming was, I had to run ahead to stop Georgia from bursting in there.
I stood in between Georgia and the door and said "Here's what's gonna happen. You will not be a butt-head, do or say anything stupid. Or better yet, just don't say anything and follow my lead" I slowly opened the door, and to my absolute disgust, Bob and his wife, Julia were sitting in the exact same position as I had last seen them.
Bob noticed us sneaking in first. "What are you doing here," he coughed "I thought we had gotten rid of you until ten." Georgia drew her long golden knife, and if I didn't hold her back, she was pretty much going to kill them both.
"Oh no? Whuddya gonna do? Color me to death? Get what you need and get OUT stupid children." Said Julia. I looked at her and then to Georgia because to me, it was clear as day that she dad a knife.
Obviously, she picked up on what I was thinking. She gave me a quick 'later' look, and put her knife back.
Quickly, we hurried into my room. If it would even qualify as one. It was a mess and about the size of the closet she woke up in. There was a small bed in the middle and the two foot border of free floor to the walls were filled with bags. Most of them were clothes. I grabbed three bags. One clothes, one money and other personal items, and one with a pillow and sleeping bag.
"Did she think that your knife was a marker?" I questioned as I gathered my things.
Georgia sighed "It's called The Mist, it makes abnormal and magical things look ordinary and normal. To protect the mortals."
"Oh..." I said. So we've got mist that makes things look out of place and weird. Hooray...
I never knew how long I would be on the streets. Georgia was looking out the window. She looked so nervous. Her hair was brown with blonde highlights in a loose ponytail. Her light brown eyes darted around. Scanning everything for a threat.
"Come on, Amelia." She whispered "We have to go now."
"One second." I looked frantically around my room. Then I felt something tugging at me under my bed. That's right, I put it under the bed I thought. I ducked underneath my bed and surfaced with a special belt. It was a two inch wide black belt. On the sides were little slits were about four inch long rods of gold, laid three in a column. Making about one hundred gold 'sticks'.
