The above video is so funny. Guess who Benidict is mimicing. Hint, sadly he recently died. And warning, the following chapter was written completely on my phone. Enjoy😄.
I can't say I wasn't mad at Leo for burning the Argo II down. I needed a boat because there was no way I was going on the air to have dear old Uncle Zebra (yes I said Zebra) shoot me out of the sky. In going to leave that up to Jason, Piper, and Leo. What about traveling over land, Percy? Well...
My demigod smell brings all the monsters to my yard and they're like 'eat him right now' and I'm like 'go to Tarturus'. (sorry if I spelled that wrong)
Any who... No. Plus I haven't told the rest of the demigods yet, but after the second war with Gaia, I've been a little afraid of traveling over land. I feel like if I do, the Earth would swallow me and drag me down to Help again, and I was not going back. I was never LEAVING the side of my Wise Girl again either.
We were at dinner the night of the fire in the bunker. Suddenly, Leo stood up and ran away into the woods mumbling I think something about being an idiot. I just say at my table listening to Tyson tell me about what he did over the school year.A lot of demigod stayed to help with the rebuilding of the Camps. It took a few months, but got a lot faster when Leo came back. Tyson and Ella had been working with people from both camps, trying to piece together the Sibylline books.
It was adorable. My little, but not so little brother with a small, red harpy, and they were so happy. It was a nice change to danger which had been the normal for demigod for hundreds of years.
"And then, we bought all the bread and peanut butter and ice cream in the store and ate it all! Ella loves ice cream. I got peanut butter ice cream !!!" Tyson smiled. His big singular eye twinkled.
"That sounds great, bud. I'm going to miss you." sadness tinted my voice.
Tyson frowned. "Brother, I don't want you to leave me again."
"No, no." I patted his arm "Were just going on a trip to check things out, to make sure everybody is safe. I'll be fine." I lied. If course it was going to be dangerous, it was a primordial. But hopefully me being a demigod of the sea would help.
First Kronos, then Gaia, and now the sea. Piper was still unsettled by learning that Thalassa is her grandmother. Fighting your crazy, powerful, evil grandparent? Join the club. Soon dinner as over, and we all returned to our cabins.
In just two days time we would be off on a freaking insane quest to save the world. And I was mad. I wouldn't show 8th but I was tired. All this demigod business was getting in the way of normal life. Annabeth and I slowly and very luckily finished our senior year.
We had planned to go to college next, but I guess It would have to wait. I climbed into my bed and wrapped myself in my sheets. And just before I want to sleep I prayed for normal dreams. I suppose they didn't hear me.
I was in the water. Do big deal I thought. I tried to control it, to force myself to surface, but the water would not bend to my will. Kind of like in Rome with the black water. It was terrifying, but I still had my ability to breathe underwater. The ocean started to swirl around me, creating a whirlpool. It was as wide as a city and it went all the way to the bottom of the ocean. It was like that scene from the Ariel movie, but more terrifying. I was standing on the bottom of the sea with a two thousand foot column of water around me. Then a voice spoke, not unlike Gaia. It was as if she was just waking up from a nap, but it was weirdly dry, like someone had just swallowed a can of salt.
"Oh my young demigod. You and your friends don't even know, so I'll tell you. You cannot beat me. I do not wish to rule the world, I intend to sink it. Those foolish mortals believe that the ice melting is causing the seas to rise, but it is I. I grow and grow, and you are to tiny to stop me. The gods are young. I am ancient. You can't stop something you cannot contain. Farewell, young hero. Go tell your friends of their impending doom. The invisible force holding the water back disappeared and collapsed on me. Leaving me to drown.
I woke up, thank the gods. It was very early in the morning, but I decided not to tell Chiron until later. So I just sat there in my bed until the cabins were called for breakfast. As soon as I could, I grabbed All the people who we're going on the quest and took them to Chiron.
"Chiron." I said to get the centaurs attention. "I had a dream about her last night."
"Gaia?" asked Hazel.
"Haven't we had enough of primordials." groaned Frank. Hazel and Frank had been unusually quiet about the whole thing. Maybe it's because of how the whole ordeal had changed them.
"No," I replied "Our new threat." And I told them all about my dream. Down to the last word that I could remember. Annabeth stopped me when I got to the end of her speech.
"Repeat that." she commanded.
I sighed. It was enough that I'd managed to memorize it. ""You can't stop what you can't contain". I think."
You could see the gears turning in her head.
"Annabeth, what are you thinking about?" asked Jason.
"I'm not sure. I'll keep working on it." she said and it looked like she was spacing out. Work what out, I thought. I just assumed not to question Annabeth.
After that, everyone was rushing to get ready for departure. As it turns out, Leo has spent the night in the bunker so the yacht was halfway done. It was his fastest work.
Annabeth spent the whole day him her cabin. I looked through one of the windows, and saw her surrounded by books and drawings that I couldn't see very clearly.
The rest of us packed or helped arrange the transportation. Piper managed to get two credit cards filled with money for buses and food. Hazel was so thankful to be traveling on the ground.
The only person who didn't seem to be doing anything was Amelia. So I was about to talk to her, get to know her a bit better, but I saw her arguing with Georgia and decided it was best not to interfere. At night the gods answered my prayers too late, but I was grateful. Nightmareless dreams.
The next day was like the day before. Nothing special, but the Hephaestus cabin was putting the finishing touches on the ship. Man, those kids could work like the great machines they build. By the time the next morning came around, I was nervous. Yes, the great Percy Jackson was nervous. You know, it's surprising I haven't gone insane from what I've been through. The most I've gotten is scars and PTSD.
We were all saying good bye to each other.
"Take care, man." Jason said to me. He walked to Piper and gave her a short, but sweet little kiss.
"ANNABETH! REMEMBER EVERYTHING I TOLD YOU!" Yelled Leo as they took off.
Annabeth grumbled. "You made me memorize five manuals." I laughed. For whatever reason, I laughed. Maybe to release the tension, but it worked. Annabeth let out a laugh and put her arm around my torso. We waved goodbye to the children of Hades and Frank walk across the border.
I heard Will Solace yell last-minute "STAY AWAY FROM UNDERWORLD MAGIC NICO."
Hazel shouted back "I'LL KEEP AN EYE ON HIM." You could see Will relax. I wonder if he liked Nico or vise versa. The ship was waiting out in the water, tied to a makeshift dock. Leo was either stupid or the funniest person alive, so the name of the boat was the Princess Andro-Leo. Like the Princess Andromeda, which brought back some sad memories of Luke. Amelia stepped over the two-foot crack and onto the beautiful boat.
I hesitated before getting onto the boat. I stared into the blue depths of the sea. I took a deep breath. I was the son of the sea god. I've been to Hell and back. No stupid dream was going to scare me. As soon as we were all settled in the boat, the engine started, and we were off.
A/N HI this is the amazing unicorn of an author. Did you know, that one nice comment makes my day? well it does. And if you have something not so nice to say, say it, but sugar coat it (kidding). Next POV goes back to Amelia. I'll have it done in the next week.
