Percy POV

When I was watching the army of monsters approach, I had riptide out in a second, ready to fight. But someone (Annabeth) told us to retreat, seeing as Amelia had it under control. Man, sometimes I wonder if people like her more than me.

Gods, there's nothing I hate more than self-doubt, but she was a goddess. So she stayed behind, while we ran away to find shelter.

Half a mile down the beach we saw a few caves. No people. It was deserted.
"Perfect. Lets go hide in one of those caves." I said.

"Percy, remember Amelia's dream?" Annabeth reminded me.

"Yes, but I think that A, a monster wouldn't hide in a small cave and B, it's our best shot. Of we hide and wait for either the monsters or Amelia, we won't be around mortals." I pointed out.

Annabeth considered this. "Fine. A small cave, monster free."

"Let's go." Jason said. He led the group down the beach until we found a small cave big enough to hide in, and monster free. Annabeth made me check several times.

When I came back from my third rigorous (yes, I know what that means) search I couldn't find anyone.

"ANNNABETH!" I screamed. I ran all around the cave.

In the distance I heard a scream. A scream that could only have come from my Wise Girl.

"PERCYYY!!!" I silently swore to myself. This was my fault. I pushed everyone into going into the cave. But it didn't look like whatever had them was in the cave.

There were tracks in the sand. Webbed human feet with wide grooves that must have come from my friends being dragged.

I whipped Riptide out and followed the tracks down the beach. After a few minutes, I came across a very big cave that connected with the water. The tracks had stopped.

"Im comming, Wise Girl." I whispered to myself. I slowly made my way into the cave. It looked empty exept for the pool of water in the middle. I heard rustling from above.

Dangling over me were the demigods. Annabeth managed so rip of something covering her mouth. Was that seaweed?

"Percy. Get Amelia. Now.." she harshly whispered.

As if. "I'm not going anywhere without you."I replied.

I heard the water from the pool start to move. I looked over and there we're four things crawling out.

They were like humans. Women, humans. But they had webbed LEGS. Like mermaids. Their skin varied. The, um, private parts were scaley, and there was a gradient so it looked like the girls were wearing a dress out of scales.

Their hair went down to their butts. It was adorned with shells and seaweed. They were beautiful. Don't get me wrong, Annabeth was the only girl for me, but these people things were drop dead gorgeous. Until they spoke.

It was sickly sweet, but the tone of the voice held evil and dark in it.

"Hummmm. Perceus Jackson." The one with the longest, blackest hair said. Or rather, hissed. "We have a message for you."

"Oh yeah, reverse mermaids? What?" I brandished my sword. Usualy monsters recoiled at the sight of celesial bronze, but these things seemed unphased.

"Her majesty, Thalassa, requires powerful people with godly blood. Well, she needs more." another one said. She had the more blue scales.

"Yeah, like that- woah!" I started until a freakishly long piece of seaweed wrapped around my legs and yanked me up in the air. I dropped riptide from the sudden movement.

The girls cackled. "Goodbye, for now." They said at once which was really weird. They... Waddled? back into the water and left us hanging from our ankles.

"Oh Percy..." Annabeth said with exasperation.

Enjoyyyyyy! I'm sooo sorry that I haven't updated in so long, and that this is so short, I've been lazy, sick, and so much homework.
