Well, sorry I haven't written in a while, I've been sick...so sorry... I just discovered this wonderful app, and I made faces from the Seven, and Nico and, don't kill me, but Kronos too... I saw a scythe and gold eyes and I just went for it
.. ... And... Bye...After we left the safety of the magical borders of Camp Half-Blood, we walked. Growing up in the 40's, I was used to walking everywhere, nevertheless to a bus station. It was a little place a few miles into the city, but as soon as Frank saw the first taxi, he called it over.
"Frank, we can walk." I sighed.
"We can, but it would take forever. Remember Annabeth said we needed to be in Richmond in two days." he said.
"Hey kids, are ya gonna get in or wut?" the taxi driver said with annoyance.
"Fine." I gave in.
We squeezed into the back of the cab. Nico looked so uncomfortable, but it was funny so I allowed a small laugh to escape my lips.
I saw Nico hiding a small smile.
"To the nearest bus station, please." Frank asked politely.
"That's ten bucks." he said. Must have looked shocked because Frank told me it was normal and paid the man. I was still getting used to the price difference between now and back then. In a few hours, we were out of the borders of New York. At one point, we thought we saw Festus high in the clouds, but it turned out to be a really weird group of seagulls.
I didn't think Nico liked the bus much, probably because it's bright blue and sickly dark green interior smelled weird coupled with the fact that It reminded him of his little flying bus trip with Apollo. And when Bianca was alive.
I didn't really low her, but I was proud to be her sister.
Every time the bus lurched, we gripped our weapons tight, prepared for any attack, but in the meantime, we were all doing different things. Frank was touching up on Greek mythology, seeing as we were Roman, we didn't know much of it.
Nico stared into his deep black Stygian iron blade and I was reading Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone. It was really a good book.
But, naturally, demigods weren't allowed to relax. We were in the middle of New Jersey, going through a beautiful forest. Before I noticed her.
There weren't many people on the bus. A young adult couple, a small family, and a few assorted loners, but there was this one old lady sitting in the very back of the bus only two seats behind us. She had with her a dog show appearance seemed to shift from a cute little dog into a big ugly monster.
I silently for the attention of the boys and told them who it was. It was Echidna and even worse, Chimera. I've heard the silly stories of Percy battling the thing, only to escape without killing it. But we had to avoid conflict, too many innocent lives were hanging in the balance. We each casually grabbed our backpacks and headed to the front of the bus.
Before we could ask to get off, there was a scream. A little girl in a cute blue dress was screaming and pointing to the dog who was morphing into a horrible creature.
It has evil horns, it's fur was yellow and it was big, so big in fact, it started to burst open the roof. He roared so loudly, the driver slammed in his breaks in fear. At that point, it was chaotic. I had taken charge and directed Frank to help get the innocent mortals out of the bus and away from the fight.
I had been battling the thing. It was quick, blocking the strikes of my spatha. It spat acid frequently, melting the floor. Echidna just sat there, still in her mortal form watching the fight.
