I remember my first date with Jay. That wasn't very long ago. He picked me up in his truck and took me to a drive in movie. Then it started raining so we got back in the truck and went to a Starbucks. He ordered a Carmel latte and I have a peppermint mocha latte. The next day we left for another mission trip. Jay and I don't get to go on dates much, we spend most of our time volunteering. He buys me peppermint mocha lattes a lot though and brings them to the soup kitchen where we volunteer together. I hope he's okay now. His arm looked pretty bad.

When Savannah and I woke up we found ourselves laying on top of each other. Then we realized the backpack was gone. There are only five more meals left in Jay's backpack. If he ate anything while we've been separated there's even less. Then I realize the second problem. If someone found us to take the backpack they know where we are. Again Savannah and I keep moving. We walk towards the center of the forest. I think of calling Jay's name but then decide against the idea. That could give us away to the Isis people. Savannah and I walk in silence. She isn't too happy about walking towards the Isis camp. I then realize that Jay might have left the forest. Then it would be just Savannah and I without any supply's or weapons. Savannah stops moving. Then she tells me she found tracks in the dirt. There was a path in the ground that looked like it had been made with a stick. Jay must have known we were coming back for him. Savannah and I follow the path until we see smoke. Jay built a fire to keep himself warm. But fires would give away his spot. We approach the camp to find Isis people with out backpack and Jay. We found Jay. But we weren't the first ones to find him. They had tied his feet together and his arms together. My gut tells me to run but my mind and heart tell me to stay. I give myself up. I tell the Isis people I will let them have me do whatever they want if they will set Jay free. I was surprised when they cut Jay lose. Little dos they know I've been trained in self defense. Savannah, Jay, and I fight the Isis people until one is on the ground. Then we make a run for it. We run to the right, an area we haven't been before. Jay grabbed his backpack before we took off. The three of us ran as fast as we could. I made sure not to run into a tree this time. Then I notice Jay is grabbing his arm. The wound from the bullet was worse than I thought. It looked infected and we didn't have any medicine. I doubt anyone else on our side who's near by did either. There's only one thing to do when it comes to injuries this bad, amputate. But we don't have any doctors near by. Jay will just have to wait until we get back to America. Which now may never happen. If the wound gets much worse he could die though. I couldn't imagine life without Jay. He was one of my first friends and my first boyfriend. Without Jay I would be nothing. He has impacted my life so much. Savannah has noticed Jay's in pain as well. We decided to stop and rest for awhile, it seemed the Isis people were t following us anymore. They know the area a lot better than we do thought so we have to keep moving. The break lasted about an hour. Jay took a short nap. Savannah and I looked through the backpack to see what we had left. We found a gun, one roll of bandage which we used on Jay's arm, four meals, a watch that was broken, a comb, and a water bottle. We had hoped for more but at least we had something. Without that backpack we would all die. We decided to keep going to the right. Soon night came and we had to stop. The woods seemed to go on forever. Savannah took first watch and I toon second just like last night. Jay was wounded so we let him sleep the whole night. Nothing happened during Savannah's watch. I however wasn't as lucky.
