Mushy macaroni and cheese, some type of turkey chops or something with an unrecognizable vegetable is my delightful lunch for today.
I picked up the plastic spork ignoring the pain that shot through my stomach. The pain from being kicked by Joey. However, the pain is becoming numb and more bearable seeing as I'm fighting every day. I guess I just dont feel it anymore, its becoming normal, like an everyday thing for me."You ready for round two?" James asked as I continued to stuff my face.
I've learned to devour the food fast, then I wont really taste the bitterness of it. "What do you mean?"
"Round two, words going around that Butch is gonna try to fight you while you're in your cell. Cause now-a-days thats where you always are"
I nodded, "yeah. Yeah I'm ready"
"are you sure? Cause last time, he almost kicked our asses because of you"
I sighed, while pushing my plate away. "Yes, yes I'm ready"
"You know, just take all of you anger out on him!" Johnathan butted in, looking worked up with his hands in the air and what not.
"The fact that you lost your wife, I mean, that must have been hard and you lost your job you know? And I mean, you have no means of income any longer, you're in jail and your life is just-""Johnathan!" James yelled cutting him off, "shut up"
Frank laughed a little, "seriously dude, you really have to learn how to not talk in certain situations"
"Sorry jeez, I'm just trying to help. Use that anger and direct it towards Butch"
"alright Johnathan, I think we get it"
I sat there and thought about what Johnathan said and I mean yeah, he does speak about things during the wrong time, but the kid has a point. I should take my anger and direct it towards Butch. It'll probably make me feel a lot better.
Walking back to the cell and laying on the top bunk, I waited. Waited for Butch and his guys to come around and as did James, who sat beneath me on his identical bottom bunk. We waited and waited and waited but Butch never showed.
"Maybe it was just a rumor?" James replied while the guards closed our cells for lights out.
"Yeah, maybe"
****
"Visiting hours!" The lady guard announced opening the cell while cuffing me.
I thought David would give up with what I said to him yesterday when he visited. I just wanna do the time that I have, I dont care anymore. I walked into the visiting room feeling surprised when instead of David being in there like I thought, Andrew Richie and Nicki were inside instead.
I've been in here for almost two weeks, I didnt think they would ever show up. Hell I didnt even know that they knew about most of my situation, so they know?
I sat down as I watched them take in my appearance. "Damn, it's been rough in here for you huh?" Richie commented.
I nodded not really wanting to talk, feeling a little embarrassed and ashamed. Ashamed that they have to see me like this. "I take it Richie told you guys about my current situation"
