Chapter 4

Briar's pov
I woke up this morning and saw that Myles was still asleep. I sat up in bed and went on my laptop. Then Myles woke up.
"What are you doing Bri?" He asks.
"Just watching some dancing videos." I say and turn the computer off.
He cuddles me and kisses my forehead.
"Do you know what you want to do today?" He asks.
"Well I was thinking that we could go to the beach." I reply.
"Sounds awesome! I'm just going to take a shower and then go downstairs to eat breakfast." He says and gives me one last kiss.
Then I walk downstairs and make myself breakfast. When I finish that, I go back upstairs and then choose an outfit to wear.
"That's a nice outfit." Myles says and I turn around to see him.
"Thank you." I say and smile.
"I'm going to go downstairs and get something to eat." He says and walks away.
I follow him downstairs and look at my phone. Then I sit down at the table and find a text message from an unknown number. It says "I can see you". It was sent at two in the morning so I was asleep next to Myles.
I bige my nails nervously and Myles notices that something is up.
"What's wrong Bri?" He asks.
I show him the message.
"What the hell?" He yells.
"This was sent at two in the morning- I was sleeping." I say.
"Don't worry, I'll sort this out soon." He says.
"Thanks." I say back.
When he finishes his breakfast, we go outside and get into the car.
"To the beach!" He says and starts driving.
I just keep thinking about the text. Someone was watching me sleep? That's really creepy.
Soon enough we arrive at the beach and I lye on the sand and start tanning.
"So you want a drink of water?" Myles asks.
"Yes please." I say.
"I must have left them in the car. I'll just go and get them." He says.
"Ok." I say and he walks off.
I'm just sunbathing when a dark shadow towers over me.
"Hello." A man says.
"Um hi?" I say back.
"What's your name?" He asks.
"Um Briar." I reply.
"What a pretty name for a pretty girl." He says and I laugh nervously.
I look around for Myles but I can't see him.
"So why are you here by yourself?" The man says and sits next to me.
I move away and keep trying to see if Myles is coming.
"Actually I'm here with my fian-" He cuts me off.
"So do you want to hang out?" He asks.
"As I was saying, I have a fi-" He cuts me off again.
"Why don't you come over and Netflix and chill?" He asks.
"No! I have a fiancé!" I yell and stand up.
He grabs me.
"I don't see him." He says and tries to kiss me.
"Turn around." Myles says and he lets go of me and I fall to the ground.
"What were you trying to do with my girl?" He yells to his face.
"Oh please, she wanted it." The man says.
"No!" I yell.
"Go away now or else." Myles says.
"Or else what?" The man says smirking.
Then Myles punches him in the face and he runs away.
"Are you ok?" He says and hugs me.
"I think so but I heart my head when I fell." I say.
"Don't worry because I'm with you now." He says and rubs my head.
We both lay back down on the beach towels and I fall asleep with my head on his chest. He puts his hand on my stomach and he falls asleep as well.

Myles' pov
I wake up and see that Briar is still asleep. I wake her up gently because it's dark.
"Myles?" She says.
"Sorry that I had to wake you but we need to go home because it's dark." I say.
"Ok." She says and rubs her eyes.
I put he towel around her because she is freezing and we get into the car and I drive us home.
We arrive home about half an hour later. I'm about to get out when Briar grabs my hand.
"Myles?" She asks.
"Yes?" I ask back.
"I'm scared. What if the person comes back?" She asks.
"Don't worry, he won't. I will pull the blinds down, lock the doors and windows and you'll be sleeping next to me. I'll protect you if anything happens." I say.
"Ok, thank you Mylo." She says and we get out of the car together and go to bed.
