Chapter 10

Two weeks later
Myles' pov
Right now I'm just walking to Briar's room because she gets to come home today. When I walk in, I see the figure of a man jump through the window and Briar on the floor in shock. I run over to her.
"Bri? Bri what happened?" I ask and help her up.
"He, he tried to take me." She says and looks at the window.
I hug her tightly.
"Ow." She yelps.
"Sorry I forgot." I say and loosen my grip on her.
"It's ok. That was really scary Mylo." She says and a tear drips down her face.
I quickly wipe it away.
"I know. It's ok though, because I'm here now." I say and stroke her hair.
"If you hadn't come at that moment Mylo, I would have been gone." She says.
All of a sudden Abbey walks in.
"Briar? Why have you been crying?" She asks and hugs her gently.
I back off Briar so she can have some time with her sister.
"Someone tried to take me." She says.
"What do you mean?" Abbey asks.
"Someone tried to kidnap me." She says.
Abbey looks at me.
"Why weren't you there to save her?!" Abbey yells in my face.
I'm taken aback because, I didn't know that Abi could shout like that.
"Well um." I say nervously.
"Answer me!" She demands.
Briar puts her hand on Abbey's shoulder.
"Abbey calm down. He did save me. If he hadn't come in when he did, I would have been gone." Briar says.
"Sorry Myles." Abbey says.
"It's ok. She's your sister and you love her." I say.
"Yeah." She says back.
"Well shall we go?" Briar asks.
"Yeah." I say and we leave the hospital.
"Do you mind dropping me off at CDC on the way back please?" Abbey asks as we get into the car.
"Sure." I say and I start driving.
Briar's pov
As we stop at CDC, it reminds me of how much I love it there.
"Bye Abbey." I say.
"Bye Briar, bye Myles." She says and walks into the building.
I just stare at the building.
"Don't worry, you'll be back to dancing in there in no time!" Myles says.
"I guess." I say and Myles drives us back home.
"Here we are." He says.
"Home sweet home." He says.
I smile and Myles helps me out of the car.
"In we go then." He says and takes hold of my hand.
There is a note on the door that says welcome home Briar. After seeing that I scream and hide my face in Myles' chest.
"What is it?" He asks.
"The note on the door." I say and point to it.
"Whenever I see this guy, I'm going to kill him." Myles says.
"I don't know if I should go in." I say.
"Do you want me to make sure that no one is in here?" He asks.
"Yes please." I say and wait outside.
Suddenly I hear the bush next to me rustle and I jump onto the top of the porch. It's not really high so it's easy to jump on to. Then the man jumps out of the bush and onto the porch roof where I am.
"MYLES!" I yell.
I back up and end up running onto the top of the house roof.
"I've got you now." The man says and jumps onto the roof with me.
I start shaking and the man grabs me by my t-shirt so I can't escape him.
"Put her down!" A voice says.
I look down and Myles is standing there. He takes a picture of us with his phone.
"Why are you taking a picture?" I yell.
"Because now I know what the man looks like." He yells back.
"Let me take her or she gets it." The man says and I gasp.
"Bring her back down now!" Myles yells.
All of a sudden the whole neighbour hood is crowded around Myles.
"We'll make sure she doesn't get hurt." A man whispers to Myles.
"I've called the police." A woman says to him.
"Thank you." He says.
A women starts to secretly record it to show to the police.
"Why would I bring her down?" The man says and pins me down.
"If she gets hurt, then you're going to be even more hurt." Myles yells.
"Help me." I whimper.
"Shut up girl." The man says.
"Do you want me to come up there?" Myles says.
"As if you would!" The man says.
Myles was about to when he heard the sirens coming and the police got out of their cars and ran towards our house. The man jumps off the roof and starts running away. However when he jumped, he pushed me off the roof.
Myles' pov
Briar gets pushed by the man and I run to where she is falling so that I can catch her. Luckily, I do and she bursts into tears so I put her head in my chest.
"It's ok, you're safe now." I say.
A policeman walks up to us.
"Do you know anything about this man?" He asks me.
"Well he keeps sending Briar- that's my fiancé, really weird texts like 'I can see you' or 'I'm coming for you'." I say.
"Could you get me the phone please?" He asks and Briar gets it out her pocket to give to him.
"We will find him soon, I promise." The policeman says.
He is about to leave when a lady walks up to us.
"Wait!" She yells, trying to stop the policeman.
"I videoed the whole thing!" She says and hands him her phone.
"I got a picture of his face." I say and show him my picture.
"Thank you very much. With these clues, it should be easy to find him." The policeman says and walks away.
I thank the lady and go inside the house with Briar. Soon, everyone leaves. I'm not letting anything else happen to her.
