Chapter 6

Myles' pov
I wake up and see that Briar is awake.
"Hey Bri. How do you feel?" I ask.
"A bit better." She says.
"Good." I reply.
"Do you want to do anything today or leave the list?" I ask.
"Of course we have to do something today. Why don't we go to a zoo?" She says.
"Sure! I'll pay." I say.
"Thank you Mylo." She says.
"Are you sure your up for this? You could just rest all day." I say.
"I'll be fine." She says.
Then we both get dressed and leave to go to the safari park.
When we get there I pay and we go inside. Briar runs up to a part that is locked up.
"I think that we should stay away from there." I say.
"I just want to see what's in there." She says.
"Mylo there's a tiger in there!" She says.
"Briar it says do not look in or touch." I say trying to get her away from the tiger.
"It's in a cage, how is it going to hurt me?" She asks.
"Bri I don't want you to become tiger dinner." I say and she laughs.
"Fine." She says and we look at the other animals.
There are two elephants fighting.
"Myles look!" She says pointing to the elephants.
None of the staff were there and one of them was about to die if someone didn't do something. There was a crowd of people around the elephants.
"Myles one of them is going to get seriously injured!" Briar says to me.
"I know. I'm going in." I say.
"Myles no come back!" Briar screams after me.
She drops to the floor and cries. The crowd gasps as they see me run in. I don't know how I'm going to stop this but I will. They have massive tusks and this plan is not a very good one.
One of the elephants looks at me and starts charging towards me. I run out of the way and it's chasing me around the arena.
Suddenly it corners me and I think that I'm about to die. I can still here Briar screaming at me in the background. Then I grab the elephant's trunk and tickle it. It stops charging and throws me on it's back. I have to take a selfie so I do.
Then it lowers me down and doesn't fight with the other elephant anymore. I run back to Briar and hug her tightly. The crowd is cheering but Briar isn't.
"MYLES! WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?" She yells.
"Umm." I say.
"YOU WERE ALMOST KILLED!" She screams.
"But I wasn't." I say.
Tear spills down her cheek and I wipe it away.
"Cheer up. At least I got a great selfie." I say and she laughs.
Then we walk around the zoo together.
Soon we arrive in the bat cave. This is pitch black and is full of bats. It's quite long and you have to walk through it to get to the other side.
I realise that Briar is terrified of bats.

Briar's pov
When we get to the bat cave I kind of freak out.
A fee years ago I was going for an evening stroll by myself and about ten bats appeared out of nowhere. Then they just attacked me by biting me and scratching me until I bled. So then I ran home screaming and have never liked bats since.
I pretend to be interested in a sign so that I don't have to go through the bat cave.
"Bri I know that you hate bats." Myles says.
"Is there another way around?" I ask.
"Yeah but it's all the way around." He says.
I know that Myles want to go through the cave and if I don't then he'll think that I'm nothing but a big coward.
"It's completely safe." He says and holds pit his hand.
"Do you trust me?" He asks.
I hesitate.
"Yes." I say and take his hand.
I can hear the screeches of the bats and I freeze. It just reminds me of what happened that one evening.
Suddenly all my courage and confidence leaves my body and I just stand there, not moving. Then one lands on my head and I scream. Everyone stares at me and I run out crying. Myles runs after me and hugs me tightly.
"What happened?" He says and keeps hugging me.
I open my mouth to speak but no words come out.
"Oh Bri." He says and kisses me.
"Come on, let's go the outside way." He says and takes my hand. Then we walk away from the cave and I feel like an idiot.

Myles' pov
Me and Briar walk past some cheetahs and she is fascinated by them. Then we see some rhinos.
"They're so cute!" Briar says and strokes one.
"You're not aloud to touch them." I say.
"You're the one who was riding the elephant." She says.
"Fine we're even." I say and laugh.
Soon enough we walk out of the zoo. I get Briar a balloon with a cheetah on it and she gets me one with an elephant on it.
"I love you." She says and I say the same back.
Suddenly she sits down on a chair and closes her eyes.
"Briar what are you doing?" I ask.
"I'm just really hungry." She says.
Then I go and get her some chips and we walk out of the zoo.
"Thanks for a great day Mylo." She says and we kiss.
Then we go home.
