Dad was getting ready for his date in the station.
Stiles and I were in the office with him.
Dad fixed his tie, looking into a handheld mirror. "Oh, I should've got a haircut."
"Well, you know someone your age should be happy you still have hair to cut," Stiles told him.
I smiled. "I think you look great."
"Well, thank you, Stacie," Dad told me. I smiled. Dad started to undo his tie. "Oh, what the hell am I doing? This is a terrible idea."
I reached out to stop him. "What, Dad? Dad, it's one date, okay? The town of Beacon Hills won't implode while you're out with one woman."
"Or man," Stiles told him.
"It's a woman, Stiles," Dad told him.
Stiles nodded. "Okay."
"A very beautiful woman," Dad told us.
"What beautiful woman, by the way?" Stiles asked.
"None of your business," Dad told us. "Either one of you."
I pouted. "I wanna know."
We heard a kid named Donovan's voice yelling from out in the main room of the station. "Stilinski! Stilinski!" Dad, Stiles and I walked out to the main room. Deputy Clark and Parrish were holding Donovan back. A lawyer, Mr. Stewart, stood nearby. "I'm going to kill you."
"Donovan, if you think that shocks me, remember it was well-documented in your anger expression inventory," Dad told him. "Deputies, escort the prisoner out."
Clark and Parrish started to pull Donovan away.
Donovan struggled, making them let go. He looked at Dad calmly. "I'm not angry, like, I'm gonna throw a brick through your window. I'm angry, like, I'm going to find you, I'm going to get a knife, and I'm going to stab you with it until you're dead. And when you look at me, and you ask me why, remember right now. Because this is why."
There was a long moment of silence.
Stiles chuckled. "Wow. That was awesome." Dad gave Stiles a look. "That was awesome. That was great. We do one more? Give us another one, maybe, like, Christopher Walken this time, you know."
"Okay, you know what?" I asked. "It's fine. You'll have plenty of time to work on it when you're in your tiny, little cell, you know. Just stuck there, forever."
Dad gave me a look.
Donovan nodded sarcastically, trying to lunge toward us.
Clark and Parrish pulled Donovan away.
"Get him out of here!" Dad told them.
Clark and Parrish pulled Donovan out, leaving.
Mr. Stewart followed them, leaving.

Outside, Stiles and I were in the Jeep, getting ready to leave.
Stiles tried repeatedly to start the Jeep, groaning in frustration. "Oh."
I looked at him. "What's wrong?" Stiles didn't answer, groaning, punching the steering wheel. "You okay?"
Stiles sighed. "All right." He pulled out his phone. "I got this from Braeden a few hours ago." I took the phone, looking at the photo of a crime scene with guys slaughtered, blood everywhere. "That's the first real bit of information we've gotten on the Desert Wolf in months."
