He just stared at me. I could tell that he was nervous so I just waited patiently for him to answer.

"Um, Hi. Im Jack. I am seven years old."

"Nice to meet you Jack." I shook his hand. "Do you want to go outside and play on the play set or go swimming or we can jump on my trampoline?"

"We can do all three." He said with a smile and enthusiasm laced in his voice.

"Ok!" I said excited.

He had to go home to get his bathing suit, but when he came back we went upstairs and got changed.

We went outside to the backyard and looked at the pool. It was a nice clear blue color.

I turned around to see Katherine and my mom looking at us smiling. They were talking to each other and then they waved at us. I tapped Jack's shoulder and told him to look at the door.

We both waved and then turned around to look at the pool again.

"On three?"

"On three."

"One."

"Two." Jack continued.

"Three!" We shouted simultaneously.

We both jumped in at the same time. It was cold but it warmed up the more we swam around. I got out, walking to the side of the pool.

"Where are you going?" Jack asked me.

"To the diving board."

"Oh wait for me!"

I ran to the board not waiting for Jack. I walked onto the springy platform and jumped a couple times, doing a cannonball.

We swam for a little while longer and then it got boring so we decided to jump on the trampoline. That got boring too and we went to the playground area.

We were still in our bathing suits and now swinging on the swings.

"So?" Jack asked.

"So?"

"Tell me about yourself." He says.

"My na--"

"Well duh silly. I already know your name. I mean like something that I don't know."

"Oh, ok. Well, my favorite color is red. My favorite food is Chinese. I like to play outside. Im going into 1st grade at the end of summer."

"That's nice."

"Yea. Tell me about yourself."

"Ok. Well... i don't really have a favorite color. And Chinese food is good." He said.

"Anything else I should know?" I asked, curiously.

"I have this best friend. His name is also Jack. We've know each other since kindergarten."

"Thats pretty cool." I said.

"Yea."

"What do you want to do?" I asked, tilting my head.

"Whatever you want to do." Jack said.

"Want to watch movies?"

He raised his eyebrow. His eyebrows were really nice.

"Sure."

"Jack! Sweetie? Are you ok?" Katherine called for Jack.

"Yes mom. Me and Sarah were just about to watch a movie." He yelled to her.

"Ok. We have to leave soon. Dad will be home soon and we are going out to dinner."

"Can Sarah come?"

I looked at him, furrowing my eyebrows. I didn't want to intrude.

"If it's ok with her mom, yes." Katherine said to her now smiling son.

Jack turned to me. "Do you want to go to dinner with us?"

"Yea. Sure." I didn't know what to think or say.

"Ok. Go ask your mom."

"Ok." I got up and went inside to ask my mom if I could go to dinner with Jack and his mom and dad. She said yes so that meant that I needed take a shower and get dressed.

Jack went home and got ready so that meant I had to get ready.

I did my thing and when I was finished I walked next door and knocked on the door.

I was greeted by David, Jack's dad. I introduced myself and waited to be invited in.

From that moment on, the rest of the night was really fun. Little did I know that this day would lead up to Jack and I becoming best friends. Just not as good as him and Johnson.

Didn't know how to end this chapter... But this was complete shit.

So this whole part was sort of like a really long prologue.
