"Mom!" I yelled. There was no reply. "MOM!" I yelled again, my 6 year old voice screaming as loud as it could.

"What? What?!" She yelled at me, sounding annoyed.

"You forgot to start my bath." I said quietly, not wanting to annoy her even more, which was impossible, due to her frequent mood swings.

"Oh, I'm sorry baby. Mommy's just tired. I didn't mean to yell at you." She said genuinely sincere.

"It's ok mommy." It was ok. Even though I was 6, I understood that taking care of the house and me and looking for a job all at the same time was hard. She quit her job when she had me so she could be a full time mom, but now since I'm going into 1st grade she's looking for one.

She started the bath and squirted bubbles into the water. I got undressed and got into the ginormous tub.

"You want me to bring your laptop?"

"Yes please." I said with a smile on my face. I don't mean to brag but I have a MacBook and I'm only 6.

She went to my room and got my laptop. She brought it back, turning it on.

"What do you want to watch?"

"Looney Tunes."

"Sweetie, I don't think Netflix has Looney Tunes."

"Ok." I said with a pouty face. "Um, Garfield?"

"Uh, yea I found it. Now watch your show and take a bath. Mommy is going to go make lunch. I'll be downstairs if you need me."

"Ok." I said distracted by the show.

---

When I was done I called for her. "Mommy!"

"Coming." She yelled from the bottom of the stairs.

She walked into the bathroom, going into the huge closet and grabbing my flower towel with the built in hood. She wrapped it around me and pulled me out of the tub. She handed me my MacBook and drained the tub.

We were rich. I'm not bragging but we are. We live in a huge house in Miami. It's pretty nice. My dad worked for the state or something. He works in the morning until the late afternoon at like 2:30. It may not seem late to you but it's late to me. Anyways, back to the story.

I started walking to my room. I was young but I was old enough to dress myself. I went over to my bunk bed where an outfit was laid out for me. It was my black tank top with my pink shorts. I put the clothes on and headed back to the bathroom. I put the towel on the toilet seat and grabbed the brush and a hair tie.

I walked down the long curved staircase and walked in the direction of the kitchen, finding my mom slicing tomatoes. I sat in the connected dinning room.

"Mom, what time is it?" I asked.

"2:00."

"Can you do my hair?"

She stopped slicing the tomatoes and came over to the chair, taking a seat behind me.

"What do you want me to do for you m'lady?" She asked in a britsh accent making me laugh.

"French braid."

"One or two?"

"One."

"Certainly ma'am."

"Can I got outside to the playground?"

"Yes."

I ran back upstairs to grab my shoes, running back downstairs to the back door. I opened the door and ran straight to the swings. Our backyard was huge. We had a trampoline, a gigantic pool, and a playground. After awhile of swinging and jumping on the trampoline, I got tired and went back inside to watch tv.

---

The phone started to ring. Eating my sandwich, I carefully put it down and ran to grab the phone.

"Hello."

"Hey babygirl."

"Daddy!"

"What's up kid?"

"Eating a sandwich mommy made." I said laughing from his comment.

"Where is she?"

"Upstairs, I think."

"Can you go get her for me?"

"Yea."

I ran upstairs to her room. "Mommy, daddy's on the phone."

"Ok." She got up from the big bed, walking towards me. She took the phone and I went back downstairs to enjoy that delicious sandwich.

---

"Dinner time Sarah." My mom yelled.

"I'll be right there." I hopped off of the bottom bunk and went to the bathroom to wash my hands.

"TACOS!!"

"Yup. Did you wash your hands?" She asked.

"Beat you to it." I said sitting down next to my dad.

The table was mostly set. She just had to bring over the lettuce. My mom seemed more happy than usual.

"This looks delicious babe." My dad said smiling at her.

"Thank you." She said returning the smile.

"How was your day ladies?"

"It was fun. I took my bath, mom did my hair, and then I went outside to play." I said very enthusiastic.

"Sounds fun sweetie."

Mom went on to talk about her day. When we were all done my dad had an announcement.

"As you know Sarah, you're going into 1st grade in three months after summer is over."

I just nodded in agreement.

"Well, I got a better job opportunity."

My expression changes within a matter of .01 seconds and I'm in disbelief. "Did you lose your job?"

"No sweetie," He says with a chuckle. "I just got a better position".

"Oh, ok. What's going to happen?" I said relieved.

"We're moving."

I'm now emotionless. "Where?"

"California."

"That's really far."

"I know, but you're going to like it there."

"When are we going?"

"In a month".

I didn't know what to think. I was happy for my dad but I didn't want to move. I liked it here.

"Are we living in a house like this?"

"Even better." He said smiling.

"Really?" I said growing excited.

"Yup."

"Wow, ok."

My dad looked at my mom who was smiling at my reaction.

"Can I go on my Ipad?"

"Go ahead sweetie. Take care of your plate first."

I got up, took care of my plate and grabbed my Ipad off of the counter. I ran into the living room and opened fruit ninja.

Maybe moving wasn't such a bad idea.

First official chapter. I hope you guys like it.
