Garnet's POV:

I ran though the hallways, exausted and stressed. Steven was running after Pearl and Amethyst. He made me so proud. Just like his mother once did, and still does. Jasper ran into the room. She was staring at me with a frown on her face. It was not a look of anger, but rather a look of sadness. In my head, Ruby, as usual was freaking out, but again, as always, Sapphire calmed her down. So, as a result, I was stoic. Completely emotionless, that is until Jasper spoke up. "Fusion is nothing but a joke! Love is nothing! That's all you are, a pathetic emotion and a terrible excuse for a soldier!" Her voice boomed throughout the room, making it echo off the walls. I stood there in shock and devastation, but kept my composure like I always did. That is, until Sapphire could not hold Ruby back anymore. "You're nothing and have no soul! At least I have one! My soul is pure! Unlike yours, which is filled with darkness and posion!" I yelled even louder than she did. I could feel myself starting to fall apart. Jasper flinched and backed away from me. Her eyes were filled with hurt and misery. We both stood there and stared at each other. Tears started to form in Jasper's eyes. "Do you honestly think I want to do this?!" She lashed out in anger and ran towards me. I stood there, not being able to move. Jasper's fist was coming closer and closer to my face. I still stood there. This mission she was on was forced. Right when her fist was going to collide with my face, she froze. Jasper just stared at me. I summoned my gauntlets and stood in a battle stance. Jasper started to cry and she fell to her knees. "Get out while you can." She scooted away from me and laid down on her side, her tears falling on the ground as she did so. Jasper's eyes were squeezed shut as she cried. I unsummoned by gauntlets and sat down next to her. Her eyes shot open when she heard my movments. "Leave." I just stared at her. She sat up and stared back at me. All I did was simply open my arms. With hesitation, she hugged me tightly. So tightly, that I could not breathe. Inside my head, Sapphire and Ruby were calm. They both felt bad for Jasper. Her life was rough. Jasper needed love. She needed someone to know that someone would care for her and stay by her side. Jasper released me from the hug and was centemeters away from my face. I could feel her warm, minty, breath on my lips. Before I had time to stop her, she kissed me. For a moment, I sat there dumbfounded. She let go of me and stood up. "Tell anyone about that and I will not hesitate to kill you." She peered over me like a giant with a frown on her face. "How about we have a little chat with our friend Peridot." Her frown turned into a wicked grin. Jasper held out her hand to me and I took it with a firm grip. I simply nodded my head and summoned my gauntlets. "We shall talk to her indeed." Jasper summoned her crash helmet and off to the cockpit we went.
