luke got to the back yard of one of the houses they needed to check, which Michael was already standing on the tall brown fence that encircled it, peering over it. " pool?" luke asked, curious if it was really brookes house. Michael frowned shaking his head as he dropped to the ground. " nope. "

"all right, two down, three to go." sighed michael as they started walking again. Luke groaned, he was getting tired of searching. " you know, maybe it wont be so bad." michael said, out of no where, changing the subject. " what?" asked luke. " Jail." answered michael with a small cheeky grin.

"it gives you a hell of a lot of time to think, you can pick up a trade, like magic. " michael said the last word with pure excitement, turning to face luke as they walked. Luke raised an eyebrow, "magic?" Michael nodded, " yeah. you know, coin tricks, and nothing up the sleeve. ooh! doves when you walk into the room. Its a real great icebreaker for people. " michael glanced away with a grin. " which, you know, is an area of life that you could vastly improve in."

Luke glared at michael, wanting him to stop. So he did, sort of. " I wonder if the foods any good. I hear they have pie, like, every day." Michael said, slightly changing the subject. " which is awesome. its like thanksgiving behind bars!"

"Can we just... can we stop talking about this, please?" Whined luke as he tensed up. He hated to be reminded where he was going. Especially if it turns out he wasnt the one who killed michael. Luke shoved his hands into his pockets, frowning deeply. He looked up to see a girl jogging by, she gave him the double look.

She suddenly stopped and spun around, pulling out her ear phone. "luke?" she questioned loudly. luke turned, flinching since it was the second time today a strange girl called out his name like that. " i dont know if you remember me. we met at brookes party." the girl said with a small sympathetic smile, causing luke to relax a little.

Luke looked her up and down, hoping he didnt sleep with her. " um, its not exactly.. the clearest of nights." he admitted. "im really sorry about what happened to your friend.." she said.

Luke looked behind her, seeing michael walk behind her eyeing her suspiciously. " he seemed really fun." she said. Michaels hands shot up in the air, " holla!" he shouted.

"how are you doing, i mean, in all this?" she asked softly, walking closer to luke. she reached out to lightly lay her hand on his arm, rubbing it comfortingly. Michael grinned and then faked a pout, making a curious faces. " uh...." luke said, trying to think of the right words but michael was distracting him. " coping..."

"well, if theres anything i can do..." she said, making luke eyes light up. " you know, there actually is! Can you tell us the address to brookes?" he asked, biting his lip hoping she'd agree. But when she made a face, he felt his heart thud a little too quick. " um, yeah, sure, but why?" she questioned pulling out her phone.

" well, uh, i have, um. i would like to talk to her?" Luke lied. The girl smiled weakly, clearly not believing him but went with it. " alright.. its.." she started to talk as luke pulled out his phone to type down the address. " 623 north chesterfield. "

"thanks!" luke said, trying to sound actually thankful, sense he sort of was. He went to turn and walk away but paused, glancing back at her. He saw her staring and standing there awkwardly, he forced a smile. " can i ask you one more thing?" he asked her. She nodded, a small blush forming on her cheeks.

" did i.." luke raised his hands, " i mean like, did we, uh?" he moved his hands to point at himself then to her and then back at himself in a suggestive manor. her eyes widen, cheeks turned even more pink. " oh gosh no! no, no, no!" luke let out a sigh of relief. "okay. just checking. Thanks...?"
