Chapter 27

I rolled to the side of my bed while hugging the big teddy giggling, remembered the lovely memory at front of my house. I went home a while ago. Matsuo kissed me goodbye and I smiled at this. Since when I'm really happy? I think right now. He grinned at me before making his way to his car and drove off. I skipped my way to the door happily before going in.

Definitely the best day of my life. I rolled again and a sound disturbed my thoughts. It was my phone. I reached for my phone, seeing a message was showed on the screen. I swiped the screen opened and read it.

Matsuo - 'Are you asleep yet?'

Is it really him? Did he just...? Happiness filled me again as my lips formed into a smile. I typed the keyboard swiftly.

'No. Still wide awake. You cant sleep?'

Which he returned it in a second.

'Ya. Thinking all about you.'

And a kissing emoji at the end. I almost squealed at it before shutting my mouth closed. Then we texted and texted until I yawned. I typed that I wanted to go to sleep. And he replied:

'Good night, love.'

He called me love! I rolled again giggling and before I knew it, I fell to the floor. I groaned with pain. Too much happiness. I tucked into the bed before sweet dream welcomed me.

I changed into my working outfit, looking into the mirror. Afterwards I grabbed my handbag before going out. A car was parked in front of me, a person was inside the driver seat. I never expected that he came today. I advanced to the car, knocking the window as I got his attention. Matsuo slided the glass down, staring at me with a smirk.

"Well, good morning, love." He greeted. My cheeks were red from the name but I quickly covered it "Stop with the name." Matsuo chuckled "Get on the car."

I rolled my eyes playfully. Circling around the car before getting in the passenger seat. He pulled off, off we go to work. It only took ten minutes to get to work, usually I walked here and it took twenty minutes. So it's early ten minutes. We got off the car, slaming the doors closed simultaneously. Everyone turned their heads at us, staring in disbelief of what they saw. Their boss actually let a girl on his car~! Yup, note the sarcasm.

Matsuo put his arm around my shoulder as he brought me close to him. I heard some girls gasped at the sight before glaring  and scowling at me. Even a girl lifted her fist up for me to see, as if to threathen me. Of course, they would get jealous of me because Matsuo was handsome, rich and no one can avoid his charm. Except me.

As soon as we both were in the elevator when the doors closed, I let out the breathe that I had been holding without realizing it. "Are you nervous?" Matsuo questioned me. "Nope. But because of your fangirls there, were giving me dead glares and really made me nervous." I told him.

"Don't worry. They won't be giving you glares any longer. They will respect you." Matsuo snickered.

"What? Are you planning to— " I don't even have the chance to ask him when the elevator doors opened for us. Oh, in fact I weren't expecting Akane was here. She smiled before and when she saw me, her smile quickly turned into a frown, glaring at me.

She turned her attention back to Matsuo, smiling at him. "Good morning, Matsuo-kun. I've been waiting for you." Yeah, how nice that you waited for him. Like he cares!

"Rei-chan, get back to your desk and do your work. Matsuo and I...are going to have a personal comversation." Akane demanded, what seemed like an order to though. I snorted in response before directly towards my desk. I do my work, they have their personal conversation. Matsuo invited Akane to his office to have this personal conversation. Whatever it is, I had this feeling that it's not going to be good.

I was doing my job then. A shadow towered me. Lifting up my head to see the familiar person, which I knew him. The one and only, Matsuo's father. I clumsily stumbled in my seat to stand up and bowed at him. He eyed on me with a blank face before spinning around to enter his own son office. I sat down slowly.

What if his father disapprove our relationships?

What if he don't like me?

What if...

Stop! Too much questions. I don't care what the hell was his father thinking. All I knew was he cannot apart us, this time. I hope so. I heard some whispers in the office. I'm very curious about their topic. And I had this rush to eavesdrop on them. I shook my head to clear that evil idea of mine. Nu-uh, Rei-chan. Eavesdrop are bad. What if you get caught? Now I'm having a talk myself.

Just pretend my heart was the angel, and my head was the devil. The devil was telling me to eavesdrop as the angel protested to not to. So which one I'm gonna listen to? The devil or the angel? If I do it just like the devil say, I might get caught and be fired from the job, or maybe even worse! If I listen to the angel, I might be still in the safe zone. I was still in my thoughts while the angel and the devil's arguement had turned into throwing-stuff-to-each-other battle they stopped once I finally made my decision.

Which I chose the devil. The devil cheered evilly before disappeared along with the angel, who was saddened by my choice. I gently tiptoed close to the door, pressing my head on to it. I can't quite make out the words they're saying as I frowned. Then there was quiet, no sound, as if you dropped a small pin, you can hear it clearly.

"Are you seriously dating her?" A rough voice sounded inside and I immediately knew it was Matsuo's father. By meant 'her', he meant me. But the point was, at last I heard what they're saying.

"Yes, dad. And please this time, let us be together." I heard Matsuo answered to his father's question. Matsuo's dad scoffed at his son "Son, I want a rich, polite, non-common daughter-in-law like Akane-chan. Not just common girl from a town."

"But dad," Matsuo protested "Rei-chan isn't just a normal girl like you said. She has a heart, she's sweet and interesting. I doubt you'll never like her. But please give her a chance." I was touched by his words, nearly cry into tears as I held and kept eavesdropping. Matsuo's father sighed before saying lastly "I'll give you and Rei-chan some times. If I'm not impress about her, I'll force you to marry Akane-chan. No protests this time." I slightly gasped at his words. After then I heard footsteps coming closer and sounding louder. I went back to my job and acted like normal. As I was flipping the pages of the file, Matsuo's dad stepped out and stopped half way to his elevator, giving me a look before making his way into the elevator with his lost puppy, Akane.

That look, was giving me shivers.

Matsuo came out from his office and gazed at me. I gave him a confusion look as I approached him. "What's wrong?" I gave him my most innocent cute look ever. Blinking my eyes at him, lips slightly pouted. My acting succeed. "My dad wants you to impress him, to see if you are suitable to be his daughter-in-law." He explained with a sigh. Although I knew all of it, I just kept playing. "Wha— you mean...he is willing to accept me temporarily?" I gasped. "Um...you can say that." He chuckled nervously. In my mind, I was pondering why he didn't tell me about the force marriage.

'Cause he don't want you to know, duh.

A voice pointed out to me, as if it was the most obvious thing. And I thought again, maybe it was the most obvious thing.

He don't want you to look hurt.

I agreed you on that. I wasn't paying attention in reality. Matsuo pinched my cheek as I gave a blank face, stating that I'm in my thoughts. "Earth to Rei. Wake up."

I snapped out of my thought and saw Matsuo was a few— an inch I mean away from my face. I instantly blushed at our distance. I cleared my throat, turning away and did my things, as if nothing happened before. Matsuo laughed before heading to his office and minding his own business. And one thing I knew was I had a task to complete.

Makes Matsuo's dad impress.

A/N: How is it? Matsuo's dad is giving Rei-chan a chance. Yippie! Can she completes her task? Or will Matsuo have to force to marry Akane again? One thing is I hope Rei-chan succeeds. Hope you like this chapter.
