five. Put on your War Paint

After seeing Nina, Joy didn't really want to talk to Jerome anymore. She just returned to her room and told KT and Willow that Nina was there. She didn't tell them what had happened outside. Shortly after Joy's return Amber came into their room, saying that she was bored because Patricia wouldn't have an interesting conversation with her.

In the other girls room, Arabella and Patricia were sat in silence unpacking their things. Arabella had decided that she wanted to listen to some music, just to try to make things less awkward.

"Do you want me to put some music on?" She asked, breaking the silence.

"Ok"

"Do you mind what it is?"

"Not particularly"

Arabella didn't say anymore, she just put the CD into the CD player. The first song on the album started playing and, after a few seconds of the song, Patricia recognised it as Little Mix because of it being played on the radio so often, and because it had a very recognisable start.

"I don't mind as long as it's anything but this," Patricia said to her, as she couldn't stand this kind of music.

"Oh, thank God," Arabella said, relieved.

"What?"

"I hate Little Mix so much"

"Then why did you buy their album and then decide to play it now?" Patricia questioned, clearly confused.

"I did it in an attempt to make people like me, most people like this music right?"

"That's why it's called pop music, as in popular," Patricia said as if Arabella were being stupid.

"Oh, yeah," Arabella realised her mistake, "I'll change the CD"

So that's what she did. Patricia could see that she was getting a new CD out, but she couldn't see what it was. She could see, however, that the back of the case was a vibrant red colour. The first song started and Patricia instantly recognised it.

"I love this song," she commented.

"The Phoenix. Fall Out Boy are my favourite band," Arabella informed her.

"You have good taste in music," Patricia smiled at her.

"Thanks," Arabella smiled back

Amber had been droning on and on for over ten minutes about how her life had been going amazingly in New York, and that she didn't really want to leave but still came back to Anubis House to be with all of her friends again, and Joy couldn't take it anymore. KT had eventually drifted off to sleep to the sound of Amber's irrelevant one-sided conversation. Willow, however, had been listening attentively, clearly still worshipping the ground that Amber walked on.

A few minutes after Amber had begun speaking, Joy started to unpack. She had finished putting her clothes in her wardrobe by this point and would do the rest later.

Joy sighed loudly before speaking, "I'm gonna go downstairs and sit in the living room. Does anyone wanna come with me?"

Amber and Willow shook their heads so she moved on to stare at KT.

"Good luck," Amber said, referring to the fact that Joy would have to wake her up.

"I think I'll just ask Patricia," Joy replied, knowing that KT had been quite annoyed before she went to sleep, and she didn't know what her reaction to being woken up would be.

She exited the room and left Amber and Willow to discuss fashion school before letting herself into the other girl's room without knocking. Patricia and Arabella were actually talking, and it sounded like a friendly conversation.

"What," was the first thing Joy said when she came in, but she didn't say it as if it were a question.

"What?" Patricia asked, confusion in her voice.

"What! What is happening in here. You," she pointed at Patricia, "are being nice! She is new, and you haven't poured any kind of beverage over her head yet!"

Arabella looked really confused at this point.

"Because she is a nice human being," Patricia responded to Joy calmly, even though Joy wasn't very calm.

"But you think KT and Nina are nice human beings! And you definitely think Eddie is nice"

"Why did you come in here?" Patricia questioned, ignoring Joy's previous comment.

"I wanted to see if you wanted to come downstairs with me," she was much calmer now.

"Ok," Patricia said, standing up, "Are you coming?" She directed this towards Arabella, who nodded her head. The three of them left the room, Joy reluctant to letting Arabella come after seeing she was friends with Patricia.

Ugh.

Sorry I didn't update yesterday like I said I would. I'm just going to update whenever I feel like it, but they shouldn't be too infrequent. I have realised that if I set myself a schedule it makes me less productive and I have no idea why. It also makes me feel bad for not doing what I said I would.

Sorry I forgot what I was about to say because I got distracted my old favourite One Direction song coming on so I'll just ask the questions now:

~ Do you want Patricia do be friends with Arabella?

~ Was this a good length for a chapter? I don't feel like I wrote enough.
