Mitch's POV
I haven't spoken to anyone besides Scott at school these past three months. It's like since Avi and Kirstie broke up, I feel like it's just me and Scott again. Just like the old times. I've seen Kirstie only once since her break up, she looked too fragile to talk to, so I let her be. But lately it's like she's not even on earth anymore. It's like she's gone. I miss her. I need her.

"C'mon Mitch, Tori is waiting for us," Scott said leading me towards the cafeteria. The cafeteria is the one place everybody will be in at one time. It is also known as prime hunting time for Kirstie, not that I want to see her or anything. I follow Scott towards our new table and find Tori there obviously thinking hard.

"Hey TK," I say sitting down. She looked up at me and smiles.

"Hey MG," she then returns to her previous thinking face.

"What's up with you?" I ask snapping my fingers in her face. She rolls her eyes and gives me a look.

"I'm trying to come up for a way to get you to stop interrogating me when I'm trying to fix a serious problem," she says chuckling. I now roll my eyes and take out my sandwich. Tori and I eat (and think) in silence. Soon we are interrupted by a tray slamming down on the table.

"You will not believe who I just ran into," Scott said sitting down beside me, "I just ran into Kirstie. And let me tell you she looks very different," Tori and I leaned in intrigued by the information we were receiving.

"Her hair is a light gray now and she only wears black and white," Scott said taking a bite out of his lunch. "Something tells me she's either turning goth or she's depressed. Or maybe it's both," Scott said shrugging. I leaned out and thought for a moment. Then I had an idea.

"Scott do you know which direction she walked in?" I asked extremely hopeful. He nodded.

"Yeah she went down that hall," he said pointing to the hall next to the theatre, "I think she even went into the theatre," I nodded, grabbed my lunch kit and headed straight towards the theatre. As I get closer to it I start hearing a voice and a piano. It could only be Kirstie. I slowly and quietly open the doors and sit in one of the chairs in the top row of the theatre. She was singing hello by Adele. And it was beautiful.

Hello from the outside.
At least I can say that I've tried
To tell you I'm sorry for breaking your heart.
But it don't matter it clearly doesn't tear you apart anymore.

She finished and broke into tears. And I just sat and watched. Kirstie isn't goth, she is broken. After awhile she wiped the tears off her face and stood up.

"I have to go back out there," she said out loud, "my mom told me to stay strong, not to falter." She then ran out of the room before I could get the chance to speak up. I sat there for a moment completely frozen. Then I got up and headed to class trying to ignore the scene that just played out in front of my eyes.

"Did you talk to her?" Tori asked as I sat down next to her in Calculus. I shook my head.

"No but I watched her break down," Tori slapped my arm. I immediately grabbed my stinging limb.

"Ouch, what was that for?" I asked rubbing my arm.

"You don't just watch a girl break down. Plus that was your chance to talk things out with her," I glared at Tori.

"Sure I can just interrupt her piano playing and be like hey Kirstie long time no see!" I said my voice rising. Tori shushed me.

"Well I'm sorry for hitting you. I didn't know she was freaking playing the piano so next time give me more detail." I rolled my eyes and nodded. Then life went on as usual. It's just the way it is.
Kirstie's POV
"He was right there watching me cry and sing and I didn't even have the courage to say a simple hello," I said to Genevieve, "I just couldn't even look at him and I don't know why," Genevieve shrugged.

"maybe you were just hallucinating," Genevieve said with a light laugh, "maybe he wasn't actually there," I rolled my eyes and shook my head.

"Genevieve not right now please," I pleaded. She giggled and nodded her head.

"Sorry I thought that would cheer you up," she said with a shrug. I smiled lightly before returning to my work. Maybe I should talk to Mitch. Maybe I should figure out my life and get my shit together. As soon as the bell rings I get up and make a run for it to the buses. Mitch takes the bus and regardless of how this chat goes, I'm giving him a ride home. I stand near the bus and soon I notice the familiar head of blue hair coming towards the bus. I grab his arm and pull him aside from the car.

"Hey what are you doi- Kirstie?" He said shocked, "wh-what are you doing?" I sigh and fold my arms.

"I need to talk things out with you," I say straight forwardly. He nods.

"Okay... But make it fast I have a bus to go on," he said gesturing towards the bus. I shake my head.

"I'll drive you home, please talk to me?" I plead. He nods. We go to the grass area of the school and sit down. The same area where Avi and I broke up. "I know you saw me in the theatre today, I was a mess," I say with a light chuckle, "but hey, running into Scott just brought back all the memories and I just couldn't get them out of my head." He nods and smiles lightly.

"I'm sorry for not talking to you," he said, "and not just the theatre situation. I'm sorry for not talking to you at all these past three months," I smile and he takes my hand in his. "Why are you wearing black and white?" He asked, " I miss colourful, full of life you," I giggle and blush.

"Well no one cared what I wore so I just put clothes on and called it an outfit," Mitch chuckled.

"Well I'm glad you're opening up to me," he said, "I have something to tell you. And I've never told this to anyone," he said. And at that moment I knew that he trusted me again. Things were finally getting back to normal. I just needed to find out what he was hiding from me.
