" NO! This is not the right dress. Where's the one I chose?"she screamed.
The lovely queen - to - be was in a very sour mood.
" I'm sorry my Lady, the ladies could not finish the dress in time".
" And why is that?" she asked.
I felt so sorry for her hand maid.
" You didn't order your dress untoil last month. The dress takes about another 2 months".
Bideon was steaming and her face was as red as a rose. I decided to intervene.
" My Lady, why don't you wear this dress instead and when your original wedding dress comes, you should wear it to the Day of Hathor" I said.
" I know. I know" she mocked. " Send in the dress".
I walked out of her chambers thankful to get out of that situation. I really hope that that's not going to be me on my wedding day.
" How's the Queen?"
I turned around to find Antonius.
" That woman is crazy. And its queen - to - be" I corrected.
He stretched out his hand and I took it. I heard that my father was going to name a holiday in her name, something he didn't even do for the Princess Darrina".
" Your father must definitely like her ".
I sat down at the chairs all lined up perfectly. How could a lady, once part of the kitchen staff, become so ungrateful for everything? Even Darrina, a PRINCESS, wasn't one who would brag and yell so much. Hopefully, Darrina is in Sparta already. Seeing this wedding would be the trigger to a heart attack. The ceremony began with a long speech and ended with presents. I've sent the lovely Queen a shawl, I had customly made for her. It was red and had little discusses on the end of it. It was made completely out of silk and cost me a fortune. I handed the gift to her and smiled. She put on an even faker smile and took the gift. Looking at the palace, I decided to check out the library and return some books.
" Are you staying here tonight?" Antonius asked, catching my attention.
" No. I'm just going to check the library". I touched his arm and left heading to the small door.
After just three days of leaving the library the place was a mess. Books were on the ground and random pieces of paper were on the table. An entire stack of books were left on the right corner of the room and I stepped into an ink splatter. Someone has been here before. I took my inventory list and checked all the books. All of them were here except for one. My father's journal. I remember I had left it on the top shelf of the bookcase, so I checked every single one of the cases to find only dust. I leaned against the table and find a rumpled piece of paper and opened it. All it said were just some random notes, notes that were in Latin. Sadly, I was never taught Latin so I had no idea what it said. I took at the pieces of paper and flattened them out.
" My Lady, are you not going to the banquet?" asked Neah.
" I am. I am. I found these notes and I need to interperate them". I lined out the notes perfectly.
" Why?" she asked. She walked down the stairs and stood beside me.
" Atlantis in domum meam".
" What?" I asked.
" Its these notes. This over here" she pointed to " Is talking about your home in Atlantis".
I looked at her with shock.
" You know Latin?" I asked.
" Yes. I was taught as a little girl when I was under the command of a philosopher. He was a Greek".
I gathered all these notes and gave them to her.
" Can you interperate all of these into our language and give it back to me after the banquet?" I asked.
" Of course I can. Also, the ladies are asking you if you will be returning to the palace?"
I knew that me living there was a speculation but I was hoping I wouldn't have to address this problem.
" Not tonight" I said. Neah bowed and walked out the room. I slowly walked up the wooden stairs and found a feather. Something I had missed on my walk down. I picked it up to see it was a blue feather, light and had a heart shape. Someone was definitely here.
As I entered the dining room, I was disappointed. I expected a large table fillled with guests and dancers dancing and handing out drinks. All I found was the Pharaoh, the Queen, and Antonius.
" Congratulations! Both of you must be very happy" I said.
Antonius got up and pulled out the chair.
" And soon we will be hearing more about you to. While we are speaking about this matter, the entire city is talking about you , Helena, moving into Antonius's house " said Bideon.
I looked at Antonius with confusion.
" May you both excuse me and my lovely wife " said the king pulling her out of the room. I heard the doors slam and turned to Antonius.
" We ahve to talk about this. I know that this situation is very awkward but I think that your father and your new ' step - mopther ' was trying to get together".
" I know. You were lucky as to not have heard the beginning of the conversation where my father talked about how lovely you were".
I took my goblet and had a sip of it. Wine. Very sour wine.
" When should we do it?" I asked.
" It?"
" The wedding. We are going to have to go through with it eventually".
" I know but it still seems to ..."
" Fast" I finished.
" How about next month? No ceremony just my father and his wife to witness and then ...".
I knew that he really wanted to leave. I wanted to leave. We were prisoners in our own home.
