The first thing I remember in the morning is that I had a very big night. It had something to do with party, wine, and Klaus. After I said Klaus I immediately knew it was a dream. I stepped out of my bed and land on a bunch or scrunched up streamers and kick them to a side. Having a hangover was something very knew to me and I did not like it. My mother had never approved of me drinking even wine, and said it was grown ups which I agree. I walked out of my room to find the drawing room covered with candles and more streamers which was a definite fire hazard. Maybe I did go a little crazy last night. I shook of the problem and walked out of my room. The wedding was tomorrow and that was something that just hit me. I think everything was prepared. My father had basically planned everything already before he died and that just seemed like overcompensating for everything.
" Lady Helena, a letter has arrived for you " Neah said.
I took the letter and read it.
Can't wait to see you tomorrow.
It was not really a letter. It was more like a short note that came from an unknown person. I threw it on the table and decided to figure it out but it wasn't really one of my biggest priorities. I had no idea what to do today. Usually for the day before the wedding, the groom would throw a personal party with friends and the bride would have her own. Here, I didn't know what to do but it didn't seem that anyone was very concerned with me, or let alone know me. With that in mind, I decided to visit the temple just to not look like a loner.Maybe, The wedding was on another date and I was remembering the wrong one, but i was pretty sure it was today since the wedding timer in my head has been ringing ever since I woke up. I put on a long white dress and leather sandals and started walking to Hout - Ka - Ptah, the Great Temple of Ptah. Walking along the long streets of Memphis reminded me of my very own life. It long and straight with only a few surprises along the way, but overall normal. What I wanted was a life full of surprises. Where everywhere I went I would see a new vendor and I would never see the same buildings. I looked up at the towering houses filled with grimy people sitting on the streets. They seemed content with their knowledge and have no wish to expand it. I just wasn't one of those who liked sitting around and just working a job that requires no intellectual requirements, though I must admit that being a librarian wasn't really a job that needed you to have the mind of Plato.
" Hello "
I turned around and found the Queen Tuya sitting in the carriage.
" Hello, your majesty " I bowed.
She smiled.
" Call me Tuya. Queen sounds to formal " she said. " Are you going to the Temple as well?"
" Yes I am ".
She signaled the men to stop. She hopped off and walked along side of me.
" This is a great opportunity for me to stretch out anyway. Your wedding is tomorrow, and I'm sure you are very excited ".
" I am, just a little caught of guard " I replied.
" I'm sorry to say, its just you remind me of my little sister back home. I miss her dearly and wished she was here with me to Memphis. All she has ever seen in her life, was her husband's house and that place isn't really known for its beauty ".
" Where does her husband live in?"
" A butcher shop " she laughed. " I find it so strange that I am in the Royal family living in a golden palace, when she is living on top of a butcher shop with her 9 children ".
" Does she like it?"
" No she doesn't ". Tuya looked down and smiled. " But she has a husband who loves her and 9 children. I think she values her family more than her living conditions. She told me that when she died she wanted to be buried right next to where her children lived so that they would have no choice, but to see her everyday of there lives until they themselves die or move away ".
