                                                                      William’s P.O.V

Sitting at my desk in my office, I felt miserable. I couldn’t believe I did that. I was so pissed off with myself. There she was telling me the good news and as soon as I figured out that her mate was a rogue…. I snapped. I didn’t want her with a rogue, but then I just had to go and chuck her out of the Pack. I had to apologise and explain to her why I didn’t like rogues too much. It was all because of my best friend Logan.

*Flashback*

I was twelve years old and me and my best friend Logan had gone for a run in the woods. Logan was always the more daring one, so we had gone right near the edge of the Pack territory.

Will! Come here! I picked up a scent!’ Logan called through the bond. I went over to him to see that his brown wolfy face was up in the air, sniffing at an old scent.

‘Is it one of ours?’

I asked nervously. I may have been the Alpha’s son, but I was still a shy and nervous boy. That was until later on.

‘No. It smells different. It’s not one of ours.’

‘I think we should go back Logan. We should report it.’

I whined. We heard growling coming from the trees and saw four rogues stalking towards us. ‘Logan. We should call it in.’ He backed up towards me and instinctively we both growled along side each other at the rogues.

‘Call it in Will.’

Logan instructed.

‘Dad? Help. Please.’

I whined to him.

‘What’s wrong son?’

His urgent voice asked back.

‘There’s rogues here. Four of them. Right in front of me and Logan.’

‘We’ll be right there. Hold on Will.’

I hope he was quick.

We backed up slowly, trying to get closer to the Pack house as much as we could, but then one of the rogues lunged at me. I shrunk back as Logan jumped in the way and they both went rolling around the floor fighting. The other rogues continued stalking towards me as Logan yelped every time he was hurt.

‘Get out of here!’

He yelled. I couldn’t move. All of me was frozen as I watched both the rogues coming towards me, and Logan getting hurt. Soon my father and a few troops leaped out of the bushes and began fighting with the rogues. The rogue was knocked off Logan so I ran over there to see him bleeding like hell.

‘Logan?’

I whispered weakly as tears began to fall down my grey wolfy face.

‘Hey bro. You okay?’

‘I’m so sorry Logan. I should’ve helped. I’m meant to be future Alpha but I did nothing. I’m so sorry.’

I cried.

‘It’s okay Will. You’ll be a great future Alpha. Don’t worry about me. I’ll be fine. It’s not your fault Will.’

I whined and nuzzled his side as more and more blood came flowing out. ‘Goodbye buddy. I’ll be keeping an eye on you.’ He smiled weakly as his eyes drifted shut. Never to open again.

*End of flashback*

My best friend died because of rogues. I could tell that my little girls mate wasn’t like that, but the memory of his death haunted me. He had told me not to worry, and that it wasn’t my fault, but I missed him so much. I had been a terrible future Alpha. That, you see, is why I didn’t like rogues.
