The mother and daughter both sobbed into my brother as they let all of this settle in. I stood there leaning against Jayden absolutely shocked. I still couldn’t believe it. After a whole lot of crying, Annie took hold of her mothers hand and they both walked out to pack up her stuff. We walked out of the pack house in shock and waited for Annie in the car. She came out ten minutes later with her bags packed and her mum standing at the doorway with her father looking pained. I felt sorry for him, but I also was extremely mad at him. Annie put her stuff in the boot then climbed into the passenger seat and took hold of Richard’s hand. Silent tears rolled down her cheeks as my brother drove off back to our house. The poor girl.
When we arrived at our house, we took Annie in to our house and Richard showed her to their room. She was so excited about telling her family that she had found her mate. Then this has to happen. That was surely not how you would want your father to react.
“Alex? You okay?” Jayden asked from behind me. I walked up to him, pushed him against the wall and crashed my lips to his in a fierce kiss. He responded instantly by grabbing my hips and pulling me closer. We pulled away from each other panting after a few minutes then rested our foreheads against the others.
“Promise me - you will never leave me - and will never - make me leave you.” I panted.
“I promise baby.” He smiled and gave me a big hug. I was certainly not losing my mate, my brother, and now, Annie. She was one of us now. We protect our own. “Come on baby, time to go to bed.” I nodded in agreement, then we both walked upstairs, went into our room, and just flopped down onto the bed together. I cuddled up to his side and we both fell asleep in each others arms. Unluckily for me, I had the same dream/ flashback as always.
