RWBY: Innocence

A Brief Reunion with Humanity

Lazarus stood before the four girls, glaring at them with his sharp teeth gritted viciously. Ruby aimed Crescent Rose at his chest, her fingers twitching as she stared down the barrel of the scope. Weiss and Blake held their weapons in a guard position whilst Yang stood still, watching his every movement. For a moment, the five of them were completely silent. Then Yang spoke up:

"Hello...Kenzo..." She called out quietly.

Lazarus's glare turned to Yang, but his glare turned to a look of confusion and fascination when his eyes met her eyes. His body began to hunch over as he sunk low to his hands and feet. Ruby changed her aim towards the crouching beast and cocked her Sniper-rifle in a threatening manner. Lazarus's gaze then focused on Ruby.

"Whatever you do...Don't move..." Yang whispered to her sister.

Ruby lowered her gun as Lazarus began to crawl towards her, scratching his head with wonder. She stayed deadly still, not daring to move an inch when Lazarus grabbed her Red cloak. Ruby jumped when he grasped her cloak, but soon calmed down when she saw him feeling the fabric in the palm of his hands.

"Yep...I like it too..." She whispered to him.

Lazarus then stood up to his full height and grasped the hood. Feeling the fabric once more, he then pulled the hood over Ruby's head. She chuckled at the look of amazement on Lazarus's face, but regretted it when he suddenly backed away from her, frightened and confused by her amusement.

"Kenzo! Come here!" Weiss called out to him.

Lazarus twisted his head to meet Weiss and stared at her for a moment. Walking over to her, Lazarus sank down to his hands and feet and took a hold of her White dress. Weiss smiled at him, happy with his amazement at her clothing.

"I'm very proud of this dress!" She started, "I bought it from a very high-class store-"

To Weiss's surprise, Lazarus turned his attention away from her dress and began to crawl towards Blake. Irritated by his lack of interest, Weiss pouted her lips and huffed at him.

"Feeling jealous?" Yang asked her in a joking manner whilst Weiss turned her head away.

Blake felt a shiver of fear run down her spine as Lazarus rose up before her, puffing hot and smelly breaths into her face. His attention was entirely focused on her bow as he slowly undid the accessory.

"Please don't..." Blake whispered to him.

Lazarus paid no attention as he undid the bow and revealed her Purple cat ears. He stared at them, bewildered for a moment, before he flicked them and made them bounce back and forth. Yang then giggled, and Kenzo's gaze was directed towards her.

"Yang...Help...Me..." Blake whispered to her.

Lazarus then placed the undone bow on Blake's head, which slipped off and landed on the ground at her feet. He then turned around to see Yang.

As his eyes scanned the woman before him, Lazarus couldn't find any clothing on her that fascinated him. From her Brown top to her Orange scarf, there was not one feature that fascinated him. It wasn't that they didn't interest him; he thought that the woman looked beautiful wearing them. He felt as if he had seen them before. They felt like a distant memory from his past, but he couldn't remember anything. All he could remember was meeting the evil man and killing the Grimm...

"Can you remember me?" Yang asked.

Lazarus blinked at her and gazed in wonder at her long, beautiful and flowing golden locks of hair. Stunned by this beautiful girl, he cocked his head to one side and looked at her Lilac eyes with fascination. They seemed to be drawing him in to her as he began to slowly walk towards her. Lazarus watched the woman before him smile as he approached her.

Standing close to her, he reached out to touch her hair. Yang giggled and nodded to him as Lazarus ran his fingers through her silky hair. His fascination turned to satisfaction as he continued to stroke her hair, enjoying every second of it. He then stroked her cheek softly as he began to walk away...

"LET'S GET 'EM!" Ruby shouted.

"Ruby! Don't-"

But before Yang could finish, Ruby took aim at her target and fired three times. Lazarus clutched his cape and covered his body. As the bullets hit the cape, to Ruby's astonishment, the bullets disappeared into the cape. Pointing his right index finger at the ground, the same three bullets came flying out of Lazarus's fingertip and exploded on the floor.

"Oh my God..." Blake whispered to herself.

Without any gesture, Lazarus let out a roar of fury before turning around and diving off the cliff. The team held their breath as they watched him plunge into the waters below, but to their relief, he reappeared and disappeared into the dense forest below. For a moment, both of them were silent. Then Yang spoke:

"Ruby! I told you not to shoot!"

 Ruby chuckled nervously and let out an apologetic:

"I panicked..."

Yang then stared out into the forest.

"I hope he's okay..."
