Rebirth

After a clean shave and some breakfast in bed, Kenzo was ready to leave. As Kenzo limped out of the tent, holding himself upright with a crutch, he was greeted with cheering students everywhere he looked. Indigo, Laura and Raphael burst out from the crowd and greeted their leader with joy.

"A pleasure to see you alive and well!" Indigo cried with a sweet smile.

"Good to see you're not dead!" Laura chirped.

"Hello again..." Raphael said blandly.

Kenzo chuckled and greeted them all back.

"It's good to see my team again!" He cried out to the crowd who roared in agreement.

As his teammates gave him space to move, a teacher darted from within the crowd and patted Kenzo on the back. The crowd went silent.

"It's tremendous to see you awake! Just brilliant! Phenomenal! I have been waiting for you to awaken and rise from your bed! Today is a special day!" He blurted out.

It took a moment for Kenzo to process what the teacher had just said, but smiled after he had fathomed what was said.

"Why's today so special, Professor Oobleck?" He asked.

Oobleck was a hyperactive history teacher that was always drinking coffee, as evidenced by his spiky Green hair. His outfit was a White Shirt with a Yellow Tie, Dark-Green Pants and accompanied by mismatched Brown and Black shoes. He took a sip from his thermos and continued:

"It's Dr. Oobleck, and today of all days, you will be receiving your weapons! These weapons were always destined to be yours! Both of your parents planned to hand down these weapons to you after they retired! I have no doubt in my mind that your will be a professional with them!"

Kenzo smiled happily.

"I see...Well then, where are they?"

Two guards appeared behind Oobleck, both carrying a large wooden box. As they set it down on the ground, Kenzo limped over to the box. Before he could touch it, the soldiers appeared once again with a table and placed the box on it. Marching away, Kenzo popped the lid off the box and gasped.

"Oh man! These are awesome!"

A colossal sword lay inside the box with two considerably smaller gauntlets beside it. The blade was absolutely humongous; it was still a mystery to Kenzo as to how it managed to fit inside the box. Pushing his left fist to the side of the blade, Kenzo laughed when he saw that the blade was just as thick as the length of his fist.

"This is insane! How did Dad even-"

Kenzo stopped as Oobleck suddenly grasped the sword and struggled to lift the massive weapon out of the box, barely sliding the blade over the edge of the box.

"Behold; the glory of EMZ!"

Oobleck pushed EMZ in Kenzo's direction, offering him the weapon. Kenzo grasped the hilt and held the blade tightly. Surprisingly, the weapon was unbelievably light. It was at that moment when Kenzo held his Father's blade for the first time that he felt a sudden surge of familiarity from the weapon. It was as if he had known the weapon for all his life...

"What the hell? How is this so light Professor- I mean Dr. Oobleck?"

Oobleck took yet another sip from his thermos and explained slowly:

"The blade is rather hollow to allow an electric mechanism to fit inside the blade. The blade is designed to only respond to your handprints. If anyone else touches it, the blade releases a very powerful electro-magnetic pulse, hence why it's called Electro-Magnetic Zweihander!"

Kenzo let out a cry of joy and raised the blade high into the sky. But as he did this, he noticed the vent at the tip of the blade where it created a deadly point.

"Wait, what does that thing do?" He asked, pointing at the vent.

"Very simple!" Oobleck started, "If you pop off the secret lid on the hilt and place a Dust crystal inside, the gears inside EMZ grind up the Dust you can blast out a colossal blast of whatever energy was inside the crystal! To do this, you need to pull the trigger on the hilt-"

As Oobleck went on, Kenzo examined the hilt and saw the lid on the bottom of the hilt. Examining further, he discovered the trigger just below the blade.

"And that's why I admire your Father's EMZ, but I think you'll like your Mother's weapon just as much!"

Remembering the gauntlets inside the box, Kenzo placed EMZ on the floor and grabbed the gauntlets. As he strapped the gauntlets to his arms and looked to Oobleck for an explanation, he found a pair of straps on each gauntlet that clung to his palm. Feeling curious, he gripped them and pulled them downwards. In the second that he pulled on the straps, Kenzo felt the same surge of familiarity that he had felt with EMZ.

"Wait!" Oobleck cried, "Don't pull those just yet-"

Suddenly, a pair of small Gatling-guns burst out of the top of the gauntlets. Almost jumping out of his skin, Kenzo stared at the guns in awe.

"I wanted to tell you what to do myself..." Oobleck grumbled.

Kenzo was still spellbound by the fact that the guns could fit inside the gauntlets when Oobleck spoke:

"These guns are collapsible which is how they fit inside the gauntlets. To fire them, you must pull down the handles, but leaving them dormant for five seconds will cause them to collapse back into the gauntlets. However, this is not the best part..."

Oobleck took yet another sip from his thermos.

"The Gatling-guns have the unique ability to convert the air around them into bullets! They can't kill anything instantly, but they are definitely lethal! Your Mother affectionately referred to them as the Aero-Gauntlets!"

Kenzo nodded and watched the Gatling-guns collapse into the gauntlets.

"These belonged to...Mom and Dad..."

Oobleck nodded and patted Kenzo on the back. Yang walked over to him and wrapped an arm over his shoulder.

"They loved you very much. It's why they promised their own weapons to you..."

As the two soldiers from earlier returned once again with a large holster, Kenzo cracked his knuckles. He took the holster and wrapped the straps around his torso. Looking over his shoulder, he saw the empty pouch for EMZ.

"Hey Babe..." He whispered to Yang, "Check this out..."

Suddenly, Kenzo grabbed EMZ and flung it high into the air. Leaping high into the air, Kenzo aimed right for the blade whilst the crowd watched in amazement. As he reached the peak of his ascendance, EMZ fell into the pouch safely. Kenzo rocketed back to the ground, landed safely on his feet and laughed quietly.

"You know what Doc?" He addressed Oobleck.

Oobleck was silent. Kenzo leaped up with a raised fist and screamed:

"I'M GONNA KICK THE ASS OF ANY GRIMM THAT COMES MY WAY!"

The crowd burst into applause as Yang and Kenzo held hands. Oobleck joined in with the applause as Kenzo spotted Ozpin walking towards him. As he approached him with pride, he leaned in and whispered:

"You might want to change into some new clothes..."

Kenzo sighed as he realised that he was still wearing hospital robes...
