Communicating

I waited for nana wake up on her own. She looked at the clock. Then at me. "We need to get ready for horse back riding" she said as she got up. I went and put my shoes on. She put on some pants and got the keys. I got my iPad and we walked out. We got in the car and backed out. I looked at the house trying to find which window was which room. I found out the room the door was in. It was the window in the front.

We drove for a few miles until we passed by a homeless man. He was sitting in this bus stop waiting area. "Should we help him?" I asked nana. "I don't know" she said as we slowed down. But she kept on driving. I felt really bad for him. It took us about an hour to find the place we needed to go. It was out in the middle of nowhere. A man came up to us and told us where to go. We drove down the way and got to the horses. We got out of the car and went up to the owner.

"Hello. My name is Steve " he said. I instantly felt bad for him because everyone I know that had the name Steve. It was so common. But he seemed very nice. He showed us our horses and we got on. My horses name was Buck and Nana's was Morgan. They were very good horses. I been horse back riding many times before. But never on a horse this good.

We went through meadows and woods. Almost straight downhill and straight uphill. The funniest part was when they would run with me on it. But nana HATED when her horse ran. I would laugh. She would say "no no. You stop that!" It was too funny.

Our ride was 2 hours long and it was well needed. I had lots of time to think and got to enjoy myself. We got off and gave him a tip, thanked him so much for letting us do this and left. We stopped at Wendy's and got a bite to eat.

When we got home I practically ran to our room. nana gave me the keys and I unlocked the door. I went in and got my backpack out. I needed this. Nana came in and sat down. "I am going to get on the computer" she said. "Here let me see it first" I said taking it. I typed in the password and gave it back to her. "Now you have Internet " I said. "How did you get the password?". "I was just thinking of different ones and got it" I said. She took the laptop and got on.

I went over to my backpack and drug it to the foot of the bed. As long as nana stayed on the top of the bed I was fine. I sat on the floor and opened it. I always had a kit with me. If people knew me they would say I was childish for trying to do what I was doing. But it had been my life long dream to be a paranormal investigator. Even though I was only 14 I knew what I was doing. I got out a gray plastic box that looked more like a suitcase. I looked at nana before I opened it. She was still focused on the screen.

I opened it and made sure I had all I needed. A EMF recorder, a voice recorder for a EVP, a thermal and night vision camera. It coast $1,300 to get all the crap I needed but you have to start somewhere. I looked around and decided to start in our room. I put the thermal camera facing the fireplace and our door that led to the bathroom. I left the night vision one alone. I had to get a EMF reading but had to wait until nana went to sleep. So I started in the bathroom. I slowly moved around the room seeing where the most 'actively high' spots were. Most was normal range so I was not that concerned.

"Gretchen" (that is my name) I heard nana say. "What?" I said back. "I am going to take a nap. Wake me up if you need anything" she said. "Ok" I said walking in the room. She rolled over and went to sleep. I grabbed my EMF monitor and walked around the room. Everything was normal until I got to my side of the bed and near the fireplace. My lights started rising on my monitor. I looked around. There was defiantly something odd happening in this room. But I wanted to make sure there was nothing electrical in the wall or in the fireplace before going any farther. I went outside and found Bernie. "Hey Bernie can I ask you a question" I asked. "We'll sure go ahead" he said. "In our room is there any thing like, electrical near the fireplace or in the room next to us?" I asked. He just looked at me. "Not to my knowledge. Why? Is there something wrong?" "No. I was just wondering. Just a random thought. Thank you" I said and walked back.

Once again I took notes. 'time to look at history and do some communication ' I put and saved. I looked around. I saw the thermal camera. Now that nana was sleeping I could put it up higher. I set it in the top corner and started to record. I synced it with the Internet and Bluetooth to my iPad so I saw what it did. Everything was good.

I thought of what I could do to the other room. I got out my EVP and EMF recorder and walked slowly down the hall. When I got to the room it was very cold. I looked around me and made sure I saw nothing. I pressed the button. It was recording. I said what time it was and where I was. Then I started a conversation. "My name is Gretchen. I am not here to harm you. If there is anything that would like to come and talk with me you can do so". My EMF monitor was in the normal range. I sat on the bed and tried again. "If there is anyone here that would like to communicate with me then do so at this time" I gave it a few seconds and went on. "What is your name. ...... Did you die here..... Did you live here" then one of the dresser drawers opened. My EMF monitor sky rocketed. "Can you do that again please? Or can you tap on something" I asked. There was a small tap to my right. "Wonderful. Can you do something for me? I just want to ask a few questions and you can leave anytime you want to. All you need to do is tap once for yes and twice for no. Do you want to do this?" I asked. Again one tap came from my right. So I began.

"Did you live here?" One tap. "Did you have a family that lived here with you?" One tap. "Did you die here" one tap. "We're you murdered" two taps. "Did you commit suicide?" One tap. "Did you shoot yourself?" Two taps. "Hang yourself?" One tap. "Did you hang yourself in this room" two taps. "Was it upstairs " two taps. "On this first floor" two taps. I was confused. Then I remember the door. I got up and stood by the dresser. "Was it down here" one tap. "Do I need to go down here" one tap. I sat back down.

"Ok this is an EVP recorder. It stands for Electromagnetic Voice Phenomenon. It allows me to hear you without using my own ears. I am just going to ask you some more questions. And I will give you time to answer. Will you do this?" One tap. So I began. "What does that door lead to?.........what is your name?.........when did you die?..........why did you die?........... Are there more of you?........... Are you having trouble passing?.......... Do you want to pass?............ Do you trust me?........ Can I help you?......" I waited before wrapping it up. "Ok. I thank you for letting me talk with you. I will listen to my recordings. Thank you" I said. I looked back at my EMF monitor as it slowly went to normal. It left.

I walked back to my room. I had to admit I was a little scared but it was more of wanting to understand than scary. I sat on the floor and began to listen to what I got. The results were so shocking.
