TWO CHAPTERS IN ONE NIGHT! WOHOOO.
No?
Kay..
Anywho, ENJOY AND THANKS FOR READING THIS FAR ❤️❤️ Love you guys."It's 30$ a night," says the woman as she opens the door to a tiny , smelly room. The motel I found was tiny and stranded in the middle of nowhere.
Perfect, I thought.
"I'll take it," I reply, handing the woman 60$. She smiles and heads out after telling me that breakfast is served at 9 downstairs.
I collapse on the small bed, closing my eyes and trying to relax.
A knock on the door startles me, causing me to jump out of bed, my senses on alert.
"Who Is it?" I croak out, biting my lip.
"I got you some water and a little snack," says the voice of the woman who checked me in.
I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding when she hands me a bottle of water and some chocolate.
"You looked tired, so I figured..." She smiles sympathetically at me.
"Thank you," I say, smiling my gratitude as she leaves.
I gulp down the water then take a seat on the uncomfortable wooden chair next to the small stained window.
You left them to deal with your trouble...You don't deserve to be here, bathing in warmth while they might be out there, getting killed.
I shake my head, trying to empty out my mind of negative thoughts but they just keep coming like knives towards my heart.
You're a failure, a wimp. You can't handle these powers. Why the hell did the goddess give them to you? Huh?
You might as well kill yourself now and save them the trouble.
My breath hitches in my throat at that thought and I get up and start to pace around the room, my hands on my ears, as if trying to block myself from my own thoughts.
You're your worst enemy. Nobody even wants you here, everyone is out to kill you.
My feet suddenly carry me to the bathroom where I splash cold water on my face, trying to calm my racing heart.
"STOP!" I yell out, attempting to silence my brain but it's not working!
Failure, wimp, you'll never be able to stop anyone! You LEFT them.
"No, no, no, no, no, no," I repeat the word over and over again, supporting myself against the sink.
The sound of thunder outside startles me, making me jump back in shock.
You can't even control your own powers, you worthless piece of shit.
At first, I don't recognize my voice in my head as adrenaline starts pumping through my veins.
"Shut up!" I scream, my eyes widening in horror as the water in the shower and the sink starts to run and soon, the floor is wet with water.
My face snaps up to the small dirty mirror hanging over the sink and what I see there causes me to step back, my breath hitching in my throat.
While the chaos of a storm is going on outside and the bathroom is filling up water, drenching me, all I can do is stand there, paralyzed by the reflection of my own purple eyes.
What are you?
The words send a violent shiver through me and before I know what I'm doing, my fist reaches out and breaks the glass into a million pieces but the blood that's pouring from my hand doesn't stop the stream of maddening thoughts.
The little shards still reflect the fierce glow of my eyes, causing me to growl and causing the toilet paper to burst into flames.
"What is happening to me?" I whisper, putting my head in my hands.
The sound of the door opening and closing wakes me up from whatever trance I was in as I shuffle out of the messy bathroom.
"Nora, where are you?" I hear the sound of the elderly woman who showed me in say.
"I'll be out in a second," I call out dryly, putting my spinning head in my hands.
"What happened?" She says, looking around the messy bathroom. Her voice is void of emotion and her expression is amused rather than worried.
I gape at her as my vision starts to blur, causing me to see three versions of her.
"What is happening... " My voice is barely a whisper as my knees give out and I fall to the ground helplessly.
I look up at the woman for help but quickly crawl back, gaping at her. I'm no longer gazing at the nice woman who led me in, but rather at a beautiful, dark and tall woman.
"Whooo arrre y-you?" I whisper,slurring the words.
A devilish smile crosses her black-colored lips, making her tip back her head and her silky dark red hair to touch the ground.
"Oh my, this just won't do..." She replies in a smooth and confident voice, a smirk taking over her carved face.
I try to get up but my body isn't responding and I feel myself start to panic.
"There, there. It's okay, I don't want to hurt you," she says in a soothing voice while patting my head.
"W-what did...you d-do to me?" I wince at her touch, trying to move out of reach.
"Oh well, all I had to do was possess the body of a sweet elderly woman, offer you some drugged water and hope you're stupid enough to trust anyone you just met," she explains and I feel myself growing weaker by the second.
"Carry her," she suddenly says in a voice of authority and I'm able to turn my head around just in time to see two women in black leather suits carry me out of the bathroom and into a vortex as I lay motionlessly in their arms, unable to mutter a single word.
"If you want something done, you do it yourself," I hear the woman in charge mutter before my vision goes dark and I fall into a dreamless slumber.
