He carried her belongings into the room beside his and left. She wasn't there. He hadn't seen her since they had returned. Vishous and his father kept assuring him that she was alright, but still he worried. After the van was unloaded he wet to his room to shower. He smelled of the must from her apartment. As he showered he tried to think of ways to make it up to her. Why was her being a foster child so important to her? Why did she get angry over it? He wasnt sure. He wanted to learn. He needed Vishous to give him what he found out on her. He needed to know. He got dressed after his shower and headed to the brothers office. He was sitting there watching the screen of the large monitor on the wall.
"You've come to see what I dug up?" Vishous asked without looking at him.
"Well, yeah." He said, "What did you find?"
"I can't give you that information. It's so... So personal I can't just give it to you. You know me, I would in a heartbeat. Look at how she reacted to the fact you looked in a photo album. How would she react to this. Just leave it be. Please." Vishous said, "She will talk when she's ready."
That upset him, but his uncle was right. He didn't want to upset her any more than he already had.
"Shes in the gym." He heard as he exited the office.
Turning toward the gym he went just to see if she was alright. When he arrived he saw her sparring with Zsadist. She was fast on her feet and he was amazed. She was very advanced in fighting. This needed to be documented and handed to the king and Rhage. They needed to bump her up a class or two. He watched as she took her father down with ease a few Times and he took her down just as much. He was shocked. When they stopped sparring, they both were covered in sweat.
"You know you put up a hell of a fight. Where did you learn that? Why did you learn that?"
"I learned it years ago. Protection was the main reason."
"I fully understand protection. Why did you get upset when Darius mentioned the foster care paperwork?"
"Because that's a part of my past I want to keep to myself. Something I would rather not talk about."
"Do you know why I have these tattoos?"
Darius was shocked. He had grown up knowing that his uncle would never talk about his past. The past that led hi. down a deep dark path that Bella had pulled him out of.
"I have them because they are the marks of a blood slave. I was taken a birth and made into a blood slave. The mistress used me for her wicked desire. Mainly my blood. I was there years upon years before my twin. Phury came to me. He rescued me. These marks are meant to turn people away from you. Marks of shame. Look at me I'm strong, a fighter for my race and working closely with the king. Whatever your past. Tell someone. It helps more than you think."
"The homes... They were aweful. The people were... I can't. I'm sorry."
Darius moved quickly out of sight as she came from the room. She hadn't seen him. Hoped she didn't smell him. The homes were awful. What made them awful? Part of him wanted to follow but he knew she needed her space. Z always did at times like these. He headed back to his room and sat on the bed. He had to make it up to her. He needed to do something. His mother would know? Nalla would know. The queen would know. Who should he ask? What should he do? He was as confused as ever and was so lost. He laid back on his bed. Something needed to give.*****
So this may be the last update before Christmas as I will be very busy. I hope you like it and enjoy this new style of chapter. I am considering doing a similar series but using the seven deadly sins and making them werewolves. Wpuld you read it?
Please let me know your thoughts on both fronts. I would greatly appreciate it.XOXO
