The ceremony went off without a hitch. It was beautiful. Darius couldn't believe he was finally mated to the woman he loved. As they sat through the dinner that everyone arranged for them, he couldn't help but feel honored. Her hand was clutched in his and he couldn't help but want to get her alone. When the time finally came and everyone made mention of making for their bar of choice, that was their cue to leave and have alone time. He led her up to their now shared room and kissed her.
"Finally alone. I couldn't wait another moment." He said as he hugged and kissed her.
"I thought they would never leave." She said with a chuckle.
"Let's get you out of this gown." He said softly as he began working on the buttons down her back.
"Wait..." She said, stopping him. "What you will see... It's in the past just please remember that."
He nodded and got back to work. She was finally his and he couldn't help but be happy. When he freed the last button on the dress he slowly slid it down her shoulders. Without looking until it hit the floor. He finally saw what she had been talking about. Scars. Scars everywhere. He wouldn't let that stop him. It made her look rugged. Made her look human. He kissed her again.
"God, you're beautiful." He said.
"Please don't say it if you don't mean it."
"I mean it. Let me show you how much I mean it."
He kissed her again. He let his hands roam all over her body and he listened to her breathing change. She was almost ready for him. When she began clawing at his shirt, he knew that it was time to shed his robe. As he turned to hang the robe she gasped.
" It will heal very soon. But for now..."********
