Blaylock walked into the room he shared with his mate feeling perplexed. When he approached Phoenix he wasn't sure how it would go. She hadnt had a good like. Much like her father. She was closed off about it. Much like her father. What he didn't understand was how she held herself together enough to appear fine. Something her father hadn't mastered or cared about. He had watched her lap the house for the whole time. When he told her about how he felt about Quinn he wasn't expecting anything in return. Maybe to soften her a little. But when she blurted it all out. He could only imagine her pain. He sat on the bed worried. He knew his nephew Darius was bonded to her. But he doubted he knew of her past. The door opened and his mate stepped out.
" What is wrong?" Quinn asked him.
"Nothing. Just thinking of something." He replied.
"Blay, please dont lie to me. Something is on your mind. Tell me what it is."
"I talked with Phoenix. She told me some disturbing things. Things I wish I felt good enough to tell you. Things I know hurt her to tell me. I also told her things. How I feel about the child you and Layla share. How it felt when you pushed be aside for so long. It's weighing on me."
Quinn sat next to him, "I have changed. I swear I have. As for Phoenix, be there. It's what she needs and she obviously isn't comfortable with anyone besides you. Nalla maybe but not enough to talk about things with. Be available for her. It will do you both some good."She walked into the library and saw Darius sitting at a table with the newspaper. She feltbher body go warm at the sight of him. She felt herself moving toward him and she kissed his cheek. He looked up in shock.
"Hey. What's doing?" He asked as be closed the newspaper.
She noted the date. It was from twenty years ago. The same issue that talked about the drug ring her mother had been involved in.
"You tell me. What's this?" She demanded.
"Some reading. I saw we had old newspapers and wanted to know how the world was twenty years ago." He said calmly.
"Any particular reason you were reading about a drug ring?"
"Seemed interesting. Why?"
"No reason. I'll leave you to your reading."
She turned to leave and he caught her wrist. She tensed as he pulled her into his lap." No, no. Let me go. Please" she cried as he held her in his lap.
"Shh stupid girl. If you wake up my Fran." He threatened.
" Just let me go. Please dont." She cried again.
His hands began to move on her body. She began to shake and she felt ill. She didn't want his hands on her. She tried to scratch him and he slapped her.
" Let me go!" She screamed, "Let me go or I'll tell miss Laura."
That earned her a slap on the face and he threw her into the couch. He laid accross her..." No no please!" She cried as she came back to reality. "Oh, I'm so sorry."
She stood and tried to run, but he held her hand.
"What just happened?" He asked her.
" The past. Please let me go. You cant touch me right now. Not like this." She said, "Please."
She turned and raced from the room.
*I need to talk. My room in 5* She sent to Blaylock. She hoped talking would clear her mind.******
