Natsu nervously wrung his hands again and again, random bursts of fire appearing here and there as he watched Lucy walk up to the front desk.
He would fight anyone, walk a thousand miles and spend thousands of dollars for her, but this? Lucy walked back towards him, the death-traps being held in her hands, but she was beaming at him.
"Natsu! I'm so glad we're finally getting to do this!" She exclaimed, handing him a pair of the white ice skates.
"H-hey no problem!" Natsu replied, running a hand through his pink hair. The pair sat down on one of the many benches, taking a moment of silence to slip off their shoes and attempt to put on the ice skates. The moment Natsu was done lacing them up, Lucy grabbed his hand and yanked him towards the ice rink.
Another nervous gulp. A small trip here and there. Just anything to deal this kind of horror. For the first time in forever, Natsu Dragneel was terrified. But Lucy's hand in his was reassuring, a reminder why he was doing this. He took in a deep breath of the cold air as his girlfriend pulled him closer and closer to the ice.
Lucy had explained to him many times how her mother used to take her skating all the time. So the pair took off on the ice, gliding gracefully. More like Lucy was flying and Natsu was falling. But no matter how terrible Natsu was, or how many times he fell and dragged her down with him, Lucy was having a great time.
Until the incident. Natsu had finally gotten the hang of it(or so he thought) as he gently let go of Lucy, who had been skating backwards the entire time. Lucy picked up speed, doing some kind of fancy ice skating moves that left Natsu speechless. While Natsu was distracted, he was not the most graceful person and tripped over nothing. He landed face first onto the ice, his anger instantly picking that moment to set himself on fire.
"Natsu-" Lucy giggled quietly but tried to regain a straight face as her boyfriend began panicking. He was beginning to melt the ice. A still panicking Natsu hurriedly tried to skate out of the rink, which only earned him more tripping and more ice being melted. Soon, the whole rink had been reduced to nothing more than the world's largest puddle. Natsu sat in the middle of it all, his ice skates long been discarded. Lucy also tugged her ice skates off and plopped next to Natsu.
"Let's try something different next time, alright?" She asked as she gently leaned in to give him a small kiss.
